Just bought some work emo's for my FD. 18x9.5+30 front and 18x9.5+12 rear All 4 are concave spokes, not the ugly *** flat version thats common in the front. I dont have tires yet but im probably gonna mount 235/40/18 azenis 615's on them. Ill post some fitment pics when they are mounted.

Why would you guess that? People have fit 18x10s all around with no fitment issues. As long as he got the proper offsets he should be more than fine. With any widebody rims tend to be 11"s in the rear or greater.

Yeah, I dont think +12 offset is gonna fit with 9.5" rim in the rear though.

^Oh that's what you meant. I figured those offsets were a little off too, but I'm not the greatest with wheel fitment so I wasn't sure. I hope he figured out those offsets from a reliable source prior to purchasing.

No widebody kit, gonna tuck these under stock fenders. I have the eastwood fender roller and will be rolling for sure and pulling if needed, i doubt a pull will be required tho. I got about 20mm pull on my S13 to fit deep dish Advans so making wheels fit is nothing new to me. Anyone that doesnt think the offsets look right check the fd wheel thread and look for the red fd with enkeis from hawaii, do the math on the offsets and note the tire size he is running and all this widebody talk will seem funny to you guys too. Oh yeah, pics will be about 2 weeks, im currently away from home.

Question for you Driftdreamzss,with the Eastwood kit has it the ability pull the fender as well as roll it? (I know what rolling is) I see a lot of the drifters with a little "flare" and always wondered how they did that,can that machine do
that ?

Anyway, I love those wheels man, I'll be curious to see the fitment... Kind of sucks though to run a 235 tire when you can run 245's on stock wheels, seems like a waste to me just so that the wheels can have that concave look. I'd rather have proper fitting wheels.

Yes, it can pull and create that "flare" you are talking about. You just heat the fender and slowly work the metal out. When pulling you generally slice the paint with a razor inside the fenderwell where you cant see so that it does not crack the paint on the visable area.

In my opinion these are proper fitting wheels. I could have got concave face in +38 if I wanted to, but I like as flush as possible on all my cars. Im not a fan of battleship sunk style wheel wells. I also prefer the feel of stretched tires. If my car understeers or if I feel that 235 azenis 615's are not stable enough on the track, which I admit is quite possible, I will go wider or buy stickier rubber. This is not a drag car or a time attack car, or an auto X car, and I hate the look of muscle car style buldging sidewalls.

Not to add fuel to the fire, but I definitely agree with rynberg. Assuming the FD fitment guide Excel spreadsheet is correct (and it's usually spot-on), the proper rear offset would be +38 on a 9.5-inch wheel (before flaring). If you got +12 in the rear, that means you're going to have to flare that back-end 26mm, which is 2.6cm--that's over an inch. Call me crazy, but that sounds like a whole lot of metal to bend.

Good luck either way, but if you bought those from AKH, I really hope you didn't take Jim or Allen's advice...

love the wheels but running a 235 stretched on a 9.5 is so goofy to me, especially on an FD where you can run a 285 under rolled fenders.

at least you could have run a 10.5 wide wheel and stretched a 255 if you like that look/setup.

Haha, I cant believe you guys made a big deal about the sizes, this is gonna be a super easy fit! Just need to get the coilovers and slam it.




Here you can see on stock camber with no pull only the sidewall is outside the stock sheetmetal. With my experience fitting wheels the tire should tuck under compression once camber is dialed in and the lip is rolled flat.

yeah just what I thought, it looks stupid and because a 235 is a much skinnier tire than you can fit under a stock FD fender, your setup is just silly to me. you may just want to drive with lower limits of grip, I guess some people are built that way, its your car, everybody is different so hey go ahead, do whatcha like.
