True, it's not an apple-to-apple comparison. However, it's not illogical to estimate the performance of a tire model based on several other models in the manufacturer's line. You say the RE92 sucks, for instance, but what does it suck in comparison to? Isn't the RE92 an all-season tire? You then have to compare it to other all-season tires, not high performance tires.

Yea, ditto on that! I mean if you look at tests with other goodyear tires on the tire rack along with the user rating it is painfully clear that the other goodyear tires are worse than total crap. However their new tire looks great. I mean it's like driving a Mazda 626 and then looking at the Rx-7 and saying "Yea, I've driven other Mazdas and I know they don't handle well." Come on man?!?!

As for Toyos yea they are good but personally I think the new Goodyears look better considering their test against the S03, which is considered one of the best out there. I mean look at other posts on the forum. Everybody says S03 S03 S03. Then look at Tire Rack's test...

In the end get what you want but this thread was about the Goodyears, not the Toyos. I'm saying the Goodyears are a great choice. Not better or worse than getting Toyos, just a good choice.

Dis1,

I understand. I'm not saying that Toyo is better because the only source that provide the test between the two is ... from that link I posted . I don't think any tires would be def. better than one or another in every sitation and we would make wrong decision choosing one over the other. I was just trying to say they both are very similar in test result from the link above w/ Toyo being cheaper and lighter...that's all.

BTW, rynberg, your full review of the new rims are long over due

Track day on May 28th. Unfortunately, I'll miss this Saturday's auto-x for a funeral.

Also after my 28th track day, I'll be able to post my review of the Rotary Extreme dual 25-row oil coolers...

Well if it wasn't for this link (http://www.ec-securehost.com/OnlineT...Toyo_T1-S.html) the goodyears with the rebate would be cheaper.

yeah, now you understand why I said it's cheaper. In my sizes, I'd save almost 200 bucks....or least than 150 w/ Goodyear rebate.

I hope you bought the Toyos because the price is higher now. The Goodyears are cheaper now.

I have the ones you are talking about.

The MAIN reason I bought them was because they were offering a $75 rebate on four tires.

I have not autoxed them yet. However, I really do like them. And they look very nice on the car.

But, edgeracing.com has good price on T1-S as well. Not as good as onlinetire.com, but still good. Getting clost to Goodyear tho.
