Question Gold SSR Comps or Bronze Volk GL57F's? and sizing q?

SO I think I've narrowed my wheel options down to 2 wheels, the SSR Competition in Gold and the Rays Gram Light 57F in Bronze.

I've read up on the SSR and heard some things about it's unproven durability in the 18" size--easily being bent, etc. Anybody have any definitive results? The GL 57f's are forged compared to the semi-solid forging of the SSR's.

The decision then becomes sizing. For the rear I want to run something like a 285/30-18 (ie S-02 or S-03's) and then maybe a 255/35 or 265/35 in the front. I'd like to run the smallest offset possible too to get that concave look in the center So I think I will run a 9.5" wheel in the back, since there is no 10" available in either wheel, and in the interest of running a smaller offset. In the front, I think I'll go with a 8.5" wheel, as there are no 9" available in either design and to go with a 9.5" up front would require me running a 50 offset with the SSR (Volk has no offset that large).

**So, I guess really my question becomes what's the lowest offset I can use in the back with a 9.5" wheel and in the front with a 8.5" wheel so I get that dished in center look? Also, if any of my logic is unsound, lemme know that too.

I've got the eibach/koni setup in there now if clearance is a problem up front. Below are some links to the wheel pics on red FD's (which is what I have).

Gram Light 57F (these are actually gold 57c's but they give an idea)

Your opinions are also very much appreciated. Also, if anyone else has pics of red fd's with either of these wheels in the gold or silver, that would be nice to see... I've seen I think SleepR1's with the anthracite finish. But I'd love to see others too...

Thanks in advance!
Jeff

I run 18x9.5 SSR Comps on my car and haven't had any problems with them. I got the +50 offset all around so I can rotate them.

The GL57F PRO was my other choice but I got a sweet deal on the SSR's. Aren't the bronze SSR's a subaru fitament only?

Thanks for the info. I ended up ordering the Volks, cuz I can get a pretty good deal on them and I haven't seen any car with them on over here... yet at least. The gold SSRs I assume have to fit on an FD cuz they're on the one in the pic above

Did your SSR's have that nice dished look in the center even though they were 50 offset? Any pics?

thanks,
jeff
