What's the best offset for RG-R 18" wheels for front and rear to fit stock body (no fender rolling)?
Wanna run 18x8.5 fronts & 18x9.5 rears

asking years later, but did u ever find the ideal offset? I want to run the same size on my fd but i'm unsure about the front wheels. I assume the 17x9.5 +38 should fit fine for the rear but im unsure about the front

My car's on squared up 17x10 +45 with 255/40 tires and I needed a little roll in the front, so I'm thinking you'd be in the same boat with that offset.
This thread is a good one.

There are very many versions of the RG-R that may fit the FD RX-7. For the aftermarket versions you have to make sure you get the correct BBS hub rings. I believe the hub ring part number is 09 23 414 with an internal diameter of 67.0MM

The FD hub that the ring has to fit is actually 67.1 mm. I do not know why the ring is 0.1mm less. But it fits on pretty snug. The hub ring kits come with new lug nuts.

The Japan BBS site lists all the RG-R that fit the FD in some configuration or other.

I got the wheels below locally, but you can find many of the versions on YAJ/Buyee.

Seamail is once again available from Japan at about $50 per wheel.

My car below is sitting on Type R Bathurst R adjustable coil-overs. Lowered about 1/2" from factory setting.

Tires are 245/35. Front fenders have been partially rolled because I had 245/40 on there before and they caught on the fender.

18x8 RG-R offset 42(?)
