I asked the same question today:

Classic - only one "pad"/"disk" so you don't have a lot of variables to play with brake caliper clearance.

Profil - has a couple different pad heights so easier to customize for clearing aftermarket bbk. Also available in 19", classic only to 18".

Thanks, Rishie

Yup... there's a little more face curvature in the Profil centers as well... a guy at my gym has 19" Profil 10's on his M3, and I compared to the FM10's I had at the time.

Gdamn, their prices are ridiculous! I'm going ccw or forgeline when I get some wide fenders.

Prices are high, but Forgelines and CCW's are no match looks-wise for Fikses...

From experience, they look 100 times better in person. My old car had Fikse FM-10's and in photos they looked almost ugly but in person they were stunning!

Definitively a good opportunity for people to get some of the best wheels around~!

They're modular and custom built per order. You can get any width/offset you want.

I beg to differ on that one, forgeline has some pretty nice looking wheels available http://www.forgeline.com/wheels/index.html and they can be had for less than those listed prices. Either way the wife will kill me if I bring home a set of any of these wheels right now.

I'll chime in as I purchased my FM-5's back in the late 1990's from a "big list" group buy. The price I paid was not much less that what is posted here!

These wheels have been one of the best investments I made in/on my car. If you enjoy changing your wheels to the whim of styles that come and go, they are not for you. But for those that know and appreciate wheels you can not go wrong with them. If you plan on keeping your car long enough to enjoy them. I see nothing wrong with other choices for wheels. It's just that nothing came close to the Fikse's in terms of style and quality.

I have the polished rim and the finished and clearcoated centers. If I had to do over again I would have done all polished or all coated.

Good luck,
Tony

I'd say they look similar in pictures, but there's no comparison to Fikse's in person, particularly with respect to finishes.

When clean/polished, "technopolish" Fikse's look lke jewelry... I've seen the "speedsilver" too, and it looks incredible in person.

I also think the reverse-bolted centers look way better. Fikse's ARE overpriced, but they are the best.

Wow... That's giving up pretty quick considering it was only posted 12 days ago.. I don't think you can expect to fill a group buy for wheels this expensive quickly, but if you make the deals good enough I would think there are people willing to wait a couple months for it to fill up with buyers.

^^^^^

You'll be hard pressed to get a group buy for anything over $400 on this forum, let alone $4,000

The main problem Ethan is that the average owner of these cars is now is much younger than it was 5-6 years ago. The younger owners aren't going to spend $4k on wheels. They would rather spend it on a single turbo setup or body kit.

Personally, I'm in the same boat. While I could buy some Fikse rims, IMO it's a waste of money for me. They won't do anything for me that some cheaper rims won't do.

Well, I'm still interested in pricing then if he is a Fikse dealer. lol

I don't think we have a local dealer for them, and I am deciding between buying Fikse or buying another set of CCW Classics (have had 3 sets now and am considering doing something different this time).

Rishie can get just about anything. Just give him a call!

For the money though, I personally would look at JLine: http://www.jlinewheels.com/

Hi Guys,

So i've determined that this won't happen because the lack of interest shown. My discount and Fikse's programs are pretty lame. Sadly there are online vendors for Fikse that can sell it to you cheaper than my COST on one set of wheels.

Sorry guys. Maybe i'll just stick to JDM ****. lolz......

Too bad this deal didn't work out. Keep your fingers cross that you can find some used like I did. Some nice wheels come up for sale on the forum every few months, you just need to have the cash on hand.

Here's how the Profil 13 in 18x9/10 looks.
