Front Upper Control Arm replacements

The ball joints on the OEM front upper control arms finally gave up last year. They cannot be replaced, which sucks.

I did replace the lower control arms ball joints from CCFabLab and i wish an option like that existed for the upper control arms.

Dorman offers a complete set of the Upper Control arms as an OEM replacement and that is the option i went with.

While there is nothing wrong with the Dorman control arms (at least for the time being) I did not like this particular feature (that it is shared with the OEM Upper control arms).

While i understand the need for that bar to be there to stiffen the arm, it gets pretty close to the coil-over adjustment nut for the height. I could lower the car a little more without any issue but i am looking to lower the car more than that now that the car behaves incredibly well with the CCfabLab extended ball joints.

I have looked at other options.
Nagisa Auto,

KTS

not Interested in the junk from megan racing.
But i would like to see what other decent options are available

My initial thought was to go with the Nagisa auto. In one of the threads i was browsing years ago, someone had mentioned that there was some rubbing/interference but i can't find it anymore.

Who has used what and who can give a proper review on these.
Pros and Cons,
things you liked or your didnt like

Thanks !

There aren't many threads on aftermarket control arms for the FD. I found a few old threads talking about the Nagisa parts but that's about it. Fingerlock, shipnout, wouter and most other serious race guys seem to have used stock uca with spherical bearings. The track guys like Peter and Fritz seem to use stock arms too. No idea what the autox guys use - Andy McKee or BlueTII might have some info.

The 2 look more similar than dissimilar. The KTS seems to have larger rod ends but hard to tell based on pics.

Are you getting enough camber out of your existing setup?

I could use a little more camber especially in the rear but i think i am more or less okay in the front. i am maxed out at the current height at least for the rear. I dont recall whether i am maxed out in the front as well. lowering it will allow me to give a little more camber

I couldnt find enough information of any of these arms so i thought to make a thread but it doesnt appear that people make this modification

Thanks Alberto,

You could also try some offset bushings in the stock arms for additional camber.
The aftermarket arms seems to give you the option of adjusting the rod ends in or out which will facilitate additional camber as well.

I just remembered that the drift oriented shops have produced some arms but most look rather lame compared to the Nagisa and KTS. FDF seems to have designed some interesting parts though.

I look forward to reading about whatever you come up with.

***Install notes: Not meant for use with OEM knuckles due to altered outer pickup point position. Some coilovers are thicker than others and may interfere where they pass through the center of these arms.

i ended up ordering a set of KTS control arms from Rhdjapan. We will see how good they are. it seems that they are identical to the Phase 2 ones but perhaps repainted/rebranded? who knows!
Both companies seem to have identical products in a slightly different shade of blue
