front suspension problem

i have an 88 fc and i bought some ground-control coilover sleeves. now im having problems with the front suspension. i want to lower them more but i already set them to the lowest. and i still have about 2 inch gaps from tire to fender. i just want to know what i can do to fix this problem. i dont want to buy the strut lowering kit that they have for sale online. can i buy shorter springs? where? let me know please. thanks in advance.

as long as the shock isn't bottoming out you should be able to go with a shorter spring. I've gone 1" shorter in the front to move the adjuster ring up to clear the rims in the front.

i was thinking maybe 4" inch springs and just raise the adjuster up a little bit. im going to get a little higher spring rate of course. but do u know a place online where i can get them? they dont have to be ground control.

wtf how do you have that much of a gap.. something is probably installed wrong.
with a 4" spring, you will be slamming the bumpstomps. i dont care how stiff teh springs are..

Maybe you can post some usefull information like what spring rate and free length spring /struts you have on there now? If it's a 6" spring already ,get ready to pony up some cash on camber plates or racing beat lowering strut tops to get the extra 1/2-3/4" drop like everyone else with that ground control kit on the oem type front struts(tokico/kyb/etc.) of a FC .

a) illuminas are not valved for stiff springs. they will just bounce
b) the shocks WILL bottom out with a 6" spring.

handling will be pretty compromised. if you're just doing it for looks (slam the car), its probably not a big deal.
