flat spot question

Hey guys,

quick question. How dangerous are driving with tires that have developed flat spots as a result of sitting in a garage for too long?

thanks

Quality radials can't develop flat spots even after sitting for years. You could potentially have "dry rot" of the sidewalls which is more of a cosmetic issue.
Regardless, if you have any concerns put some new rubber on. The last thing you should need to worry about are faulty tires.

You definitely don't have flatspots from the car just sitting in the garage. I've noticed that on softer tires, the belts can deform slightly after long periods of sitting. It will give the vibrations that can feel like flatspotted tires. Usually goes away after a couple hundred miles.

ahh ok. Yes, the 4 tires are pretty new, and I have moved it from time to time.. though at times it has sat on the same spot for a month or so... :\.

Finally about a month away from getting the car registered and insured again! woohoo!

Thanks for the info.
