Fixing Curb Rash?

Can you fix curb rash on aluminum rims?

I have a set of Series 5 TII mesh rims... and i really like them... i have no intentions of getting new ones...

Is there any way to fix them? they don't look too bad... but i want to them to look new again...

so i can maybe powder coat them.

Gloss black looks awesome on those rims. Some PC places can do it. IF not then you're going to have to send them out.

The best results i have had are a result of spinning the wheel say 33-35 revs per min then grinding off the high spots ... basically blending with the low spots. Thae same procedure only polishing alu with a small 3" pad with compound. Best of luck... ps if outter rim is bent (within reason) bash it into shape.... Good Luck! Cartervs

You would be surprised how much sandblasting/sanding can help. If they still are too bad then you can send them to a repair shop but you will get charged probably 100$ a rim. For aftermarket rims that might be nice but stock rims you can basicly buy a new one.

Cheers search for wheel repair. I bought my car with Ceasar Mahdi rims from Japan that I really liked but they were scuffed and the inside piece needed to be painted. In Calgary Canada they can fix aluminum rims even with chunks missing and repolish and paint. It is amazing what can be done. So if we have it here in Canada I am sure they have many shops close to U in the USA. It cost about 90.00 CAN bucks per rim.
