Fitting 4 275 wide race tires in an FD?

If I have 4 wheels/tires in the 275 wide flavor, is it possible to get all 4 into the FD? (ie: for lugging along race tires/wheels to autox)

I was thinking 1 in the passenger seat, one behind the pass seat, one in the trunk, and temporarily remove the rear strut tower bar and fit the other tire in that way. Will this work? Anyone have any pics of their FD loaded down with 4 wheels/tires?

A trailor is just completely out of the budget for this year.... The best I can do is get some covers and stuff to keep from destroying the interior

Ive fit similar in my FC but the wider the wheels/tires, the more likely the hatch will need to be open and tethered down with some bungee cords.

No. I drove home from a tire shop with a set like that once, and had to have the hatch open. It nearly killed me from the backdrafting of exhaust fumes.

You gots to get a tire trailer. I think I picked up my whole tire tailer and hitch setup for $400 used. New will still be well under $1k. It's just the cost of doing business if you don't want to drive them there. I guess you COULD get a hitch and one of those tire-tails they sell for Miatas, but I'd worry about tires of that width fitting, and weighing too much for the tongue weight limits.

I've fit four 265/35/18's in my FD with the hatch CLOSED. I removed the center divider and hatch cover. But these were tires, so I could 'bend' them.

As far as my FC, I've fit a full set of race tires and wheels, two extra spare tires, tool box, full sized jack, helmet, jack stands, etc etc.
