Fitted Tein Flex - Pics and few questions....

Alright Lads and Ladies,

Right, I fitted Tein Flex at weekend... all went fine, also fitted some of the front Delrin bushings...

I just have a few questions in relation to the Teins... Pics and questions below..

Top of strut. I mounted this as is. No rubbers, no mount etc. Didn't come with any rubber mounts and standard don't fit. Is this correct?? Front and rear.

A-Arm... replaced bushings and replaced with Delrin mounts.

Front sway bar link... bushing craked, sloppy... will this have a massive impact on handling/ vibrations... should I replace??

Car Before Tein install...

Car After Tein install...

Cheers

I assumed that the link was shaped like this although have been told that the bar between the two bushings is supposed to be straight... I have to replace the entire part and not just bushings..

It should look like this..

Quick Question...

When I adjust the dampening hex bolt... should it click for every setting?

Currently it doesn't it just turns freely, clockwise and anti clockwise.... with no clicks??

Thanks

I think this makes sense...
I'll be installing EDFC so wouldn't the small click mechanism have to be removed anyway...

I don't think that is a stock FD sway bar mount.

You are correct that you replace the entire part. Its fairly priced from Ray at Malloy

the adjuster is screwed into an adjuster body thingy, which is threaded into the shock. the adjuster body thingy is probably loose. spin it clockwise until tight, and then the adjuster should click clockwise. its probably too far off the soft end of the spectrum. hope that wasnt too confusing..

Okay, the adjuster. I' have screwed it all the way clockwise.. goes down into the threaded shock about an inch.. no clicks... is an inch the norm or supposed to go a lot more than that?

Thanks for replies.

This is what the adjuster, adjusts.. the threaded bolt that goes into the strut piston and turns clockwise to harden suspension...

That is the set screw which sits inside the piston rod. The manual adjuster (clicker) sits on to of the the set screw. Since you are going to be installing the EDFC, it doesn't matter that you do not have it. But in the event you want to go back to a manual setup, you will need to purchase them later.

Make sure when you install the EDFC motors, you follow the instructions explicitly! It is very easy to install them incorrectly, which will result in a reduction in adjustment range or no adjustment at all.

I have seen this happen to many times. Have fun with the new suspension!

I ordered the suspension of an RX7 Tein demo car... they were on the car 2 months and hardly driven. Suspension immaculate. not a mark on the paint etc. They obviously had the EDFC installed on it as I purchased with the kit. As you said, clicker has already been removed for EDFC.

Thanks for clearing up...
