Firestone Firehawk 900?
Does anyone know anything about these?
I am starting to see these tires (Firestone Firehawk 900) appearing in my searching for a good 205/60R13 street tire. I can't find any useful info on them online, just a couple places (and ebay sellers) with stock photos. They claim to be 300 treadwear; I'm waiting to hear back from one ebay seller to confirm this (and confirm they are DOT-legal, since most of the info I've found online about this has been foreign).
Here's an example of one of the stock pictures (this one is from eBay):
This line of tires (Firehawk 900) is not listed on firestone's website, but the tread pattern and UTQG (300-ish) sure seems similar to the Firehawk Wide Oval RFT I've found on TireRack (not offered anywhere close to this size, though), which is a very high-performance street tire:
Now, this may all be moot if it turns out these aren't even DOT legal, but I'm very curious if anyone knows anything about these tires. If I hear back positively from the ebay seller, I very well may order a set and be the guinea pig for these. Everything else aside, if they really are 300 treadwear they're bound to be somewhat sticky!
