Interesting Options at local Firestone store
I went their yesterday to get an alignment quote. Lo and Behold, they have a lifetime alignment deal. It is for the life of the car. It is normally 169, 139 now. I jumped on that. I also took the Pettit settings and had them apply them.
When I had my 323, I got some Michelins at Sears, and the lifetime alignment. At the time I was commuting to NJ from CT, 65 miles each way. I got my money out of that deal, I was coming in every other month.
Fortunately, the guy doing the alignment seemed to know his ****. He said he used to be on an Indycar team.
Also, I was curious about their tire prices. I asked for a quote on 245-45ZR16 S03s. He printed it out. They wanted to 231.99 per tire. I then mentioned that before I was getting TireRack tires drop shipped and installed locally. I told them TireRack had those tires for 178. He said he could do 188. I was surprised to find them so competitive. He also said he was a TireRack installation shop.
The other thing that surprised me, is I guess some of these franchise shops can do what they want. They had Firestones/Bridgestones/Falkens/Goodyear and a few other brands.
Given that this shop is so close, if he can get that competitive, I will probably be doing my business with him.
