Hey Rob...some guy showed up to the meet ErnieT put on in MD a few months back in a Supra w/ VERY clean molded widebody kit (looked AWESOME, complemented the stock lines, nothing bulging or extreme), and he was sitting on 355/25s man. I was like O M G lol.

You guys clean your rims?! LOL. I quit after like the 4th time. So freakin time consuming, and they need like CONSTANT attention. So I just let 'em be. I can always get 'em repolished for cheap

Peter, how's that look? The annodized surface? Shiny, dull, what? Mirror reflection?

Oh and you know there's a "local" shop that refinishes, repaints, repolishes, repairs, etc rims, and have been doing it for YEARS? One of the best, too. Don't need to go to Fikse for that. And price is VERY reasonable... (PM me if you're interested, cuz I don't get email notifications to my AOL account, so if I don't remember to check this thread, I won't see any of the posts lol)

The annodizing looks hot.. it's a satin finish. Most Fikse shops i've been to always have one black anodized wheel on display. There's nothing that says "I mean business" more than a set of all black FM-5's

FWIW, if you're talking about ye olde wheel shop, I talked to them.

If my car was white instead of silver, mine would have been black, no question.

Do anodized wheels come only in satin & black? If my understanding is correct, anodizing is simply creating colors on aluminum (or other) pieces via an electric process... don't know if there's a restriction/limitation in color?

In short, what I'm getting at is, can you have wheels anodized in a bright silver color?

FWIW, if you're talking about ye olde wheel shop, I talked to them.
Na...Ye Olde Wheel takes FOREVER, and I had 'em to a pair of rims for me and it was okay...def not top notch quality. Im talking about Wheel Worx, which is about 10 min up the road from 'em (closer to us). FYI:

Wheel Worx, Inc. - Really Works
8213 Front Cloverleaf Drive
Millersville, MD 21108
410-969-7282
1-888-969-7282
410-969-7901 (Fax)

They have 2 - 3 day turnaround time, and their work is EXCELLENT. They work on everything but chrome rims (since you have to strip the chrome, and that's a hazardous material, blah blah).

Good to know... i might get my SSR track wheels redone all black :-)

AFAIK, you can annodize any color. Fikse has a silver annodized finish as one of their regulars.. though it's just a satin. What they call "speed silver" is like a thin high luster pain, and it looks great. Kenesis does something that call "polished annodized", and it looks a bit like my RGR finish, or like BMW M wheels... it's on their site.

FYI, black anodize usually starts to turn purplish after so much UV exposure.

Camero wheels

Ok i have to bring this post back and finaly get this off my chest. Let me start out by saying i try to respect the "different strokes for different folks" statement and i realize that if everyone had my exact taste it would be a boring world, but these Fikse wheels look like something off a early 90s camero. They are so big, shiny and just out of date. They may look ok on a old school muscle car but are so out of place on the FD. Maybe a guys taste in cars gets stuck in a decade like they say his clothes get stuck in a certain decade of his youth. That would explain why some people pay this much for wheels that have the same finish as a trailer hitch. Technipolish

Different strokes for different folks indeed. I personally think you're on crack cocaine

Go look in my photo albums and tell me my FD looks like poo with those wheels on

I have to ask, what wheels do you recommend, I'd really like to know.

LOL,
You'll see more Fikse's on Porsches and Ferraris than you will FDs or Camaros, not to mention half the ALMS and Rolex GT fields. Maybe it's your aesthetic sense that is a little off?

The Fikses don't do anything for me either, I agree with duval7. But wheels are very much a matter of preference so I don't feel the need to give anybody crap about their choices as long as they're good quality (which Fikses certainly are). I'm partial to the BBS RGRs and RS-GTs.

Goodfella i must say i got a little nervous when i saw you were the one that replied to my post. Your car is truly amazing and i hope one day i can get mine up to half the level your car is at. BUT put those rims back on the F body Mustang where they belong. I realize me giving you advice on your car is like a little leaguer giving Hank Arron swing tips but oh well here we go. These days it seems like Time Attack is the big trend and the wheels they tend to sport are really wide with very low offsets and with some type of color. When these first started showing up i really did like them but the more i saw them the better they looked. Like Risky Devils FD, I am sure you saw his thread, "The most baller Enkeis ever". I hated those rims. Then a few days later i looked at them again i thought they weren't so bad and after a few more days i was like damn those ARE the most baller Enkeis ever. My point is sometimes we get stuck in a rut, or in this case a style, that the industry has moved away from a long time ago and sometimes it takes a kick in the *** to realize that maybe these younger guys have a new way of making things look hot. I don't know about you but i get tired of looking at the same old stuff time and time again, even if it is executed well. Also when i say, "getting stuck in a rut" i don't mean you becuase i really don't know you. I am talking more about myself because that's the way i felt when i finally realized how hot Risky Devils wheels are. Another thing I would like to say is it doesn't matter how much they cost, who made them, or what series they run in. Hot is hot and not is not. So if your running around with a comb over, tight rolled pants, and chrome rims, maybe you should ask yourself am I out of the loop.
As for my personal taste I like the Advan RS, RG, TCs, Work Emotions, BBS CHs, and the Volks RX7 RAGE has, those are mean. These are just a few off the top of my head. You know with your red paint you should check out the Lemans GTS 550 Ferraris of 2001. They ran some gun metal colored wheels that were beautiful. Anyways hope i didn't offend anyone. I will be starting my ground up build thread soon and everyone will have their chance to hit back.
