FD Wheel spacers?

What is the thickest wheel spacer that can be safely run on the rears? I'm looking at buying some wheels and the rear offsets are a bit too high... 18X9.5 +55. I don't really want to replace the studs with longer ones as I would simply look elsewhere for betting fitting wheels if that's the case. Thanks in advance.

For Slip-on:
Really it depends on the wheel center, but 5mm is about max I would do on stock studs, maybe 8mm. 10mm seemed like too much and not enough thread engagement for me.

bolt on:
as much as you can fit.

Thanks. So by bolt-on, I'm assuming you mean spacers like Project Kics? It looks like I'll go that route. Would you recommend 10mm or 15mm for my setup?

Ive got Project Kics on my FD's rears, I put on some thread lock blue just for some safety and torque it to spec. No problems for me so far, I know a few other road racers that do the same setup with no problems.

Thanks, guys It looks like I'll go with Project Kics spacers if I end up getting the wheels that I'm looking at.

Depends, what tire size are you going with? and have you rolled or pulled your fenders?

I mentioned this in another thread: You can get extended shank lug nuts that have an extension past the acorn into the wheel's lug hole, and thus provide an additional 1/4" to 3/8" of thread contact.

I'd HIGHLY recommend that over thread lock compound.

Peter, do you know where I can get such lugnuts? Thanks.

burtoncr, I'm probably going to go with 275/35/18 in the back. My fenders are not rolled.

Thanks a lot, Peter. I'll contact them if I decide to go with those lugs.
