Is the FD "vintage" looking enough to wear Panasports?

Hi

I did some searching and could not find anything.

Any opinions on how a spoiler-less FD would look with some Panasports, Rota RBs, Superlites or similar (Wantanabe ..sp?)

Any pictures? Maybe they dont make a 17 in the right offset but I think there is a 3 piece wheel in this style available some where that could be custom made.

I would want to run 17x9.5 or 10 with 275/40s in the rear and 245 or 255s in the front.

Any body have photo-shop skills and time to do it?

My .002 cents would say that it wouldn't look good....

I don't think it would look good. I think those particular wheels only look decent in small sizes.

Im sure a set of panasport c5c2's would look great on an FD. But i think you are talking about the c8's, which I think would look horrible.

Hmm They do look great on the Miata....I forgot how similar some aspects of the styling are between the two cars.

I dont know, it might be really nice, I saw a 240z recently with 17" Rota RBs with a good "lip" and it looked fabulous.

I am going to post some photos and see if some one can photo shop.

Those are nice, probably a bit too much bling for me, perhaps if they were all silver or grey.

Doesn't work on the FD. Barely works on the new Mini. Fits well with Miatas, old Zs and other cars but I can't see it on the FD.

What is important is what you like not the opinion of others. It is your money not theirs that will be spent. Be a man!

Yah but the whole reason I play with cars is to get validation from other GUYS....Maybe I need a shrink.

Any way hoping someone else had done this and had a picture.

Thats my Light blue Porsche up there, I had this style of wheel on it. Always been a fan.

Me too. Here's a pic of my old Miata, with it's natural enemy in the background. Those are old-school racing Panas I had on there. Pretty hard to come by nowadays.

I don't think they'll work, they're an awesome set of wheels, but I just don't think it'll work on the FD

The thing about those Panasports is that they look good in small sizes on smallish cars. Great wheels but I don't think they fit with the FD's proportions.

the watanabe's look great on an FD and you can get them currently in +30, +35, +40 offsets with anything else being special order (price plus a small fe for special run) I put them on my friends FD years ago, and plan on doing the same to mine fairly soon.

Watanabe comes through with some pics!

Wow great guys super customer service.

Enjoy!

They do look good, I would want a bit more dish like the Z so I guess I would have to go custom. They are almost $500 per wheel off the shelf so not going to happen right away. I dont know If I start into that price range I could probably find some used FIKSE's or even new CCWs.
