FD Setup
Hi All,
I have been reading these forums for a few years now ever since I got my first FD. I live in Australia "Brisbane" and have a track only 93 FD.
Currently making 385hp ATW on 15psi. T04R 1.0 etc...
Coilovers are Ohlins revalved with 10/8.
Stock swaybars
18x10.5 +45
275/35 A6 Front
295/30 A6 Rear
I have only been driving a few times a year so I am not professional driver, my question for the experts relates to the roll that my car experiences.
I understand that with stock swaybars and relatively sticky tyres its going to roll but what affect will it have on handling if i do increase the front the rear roll bar?
I have attached some photos of the car.
Regards,
Adam Baxter

that is some serious roll! I would def consider beefier sway bars if your not considering stiffer springs. Personally, I would move up spring rate and get stiffer bars.
Tripoint sells some really nice adjustable bars. You can set it up to your liking. With your tire combo and by the looks of your rear roll you would prob want to stiffen the rear bar a bit too. I have tanabe front swaybar, stock rear bar with 12/10k spring rate and 275 R888's all around. My roll is very minimal and the car is very balanced.

**forgot to mention. I would also upgrade your front swaybar mounts. Widefoot made some really nice ones and I believe Racing Beat makes some as well. If you dont upgrade them, you WILL break you OEM ones without doubt.
If you stiffen up the right amount you will not loose grip and gain more precision. Not too stiff, not too soft. Ideally you will also want to add more camber the stiffer you go.

depends. By looks of your pictures, you are damn near close to buttoming out your suspension and that is bad. You will loose grip without much warning. In your case, I think you will benefit a lot by stiffening things up. If you want to be cost efficient, try out the tanabe front and rear bars. They are cheap and good quality. If you dont like the feel, which I doubt, sell them for minimal loss.

im confused as to what you are looking for by posting this thread. To answer it, your handling will without doubt get BETTER by adding swaybars. Seems like you are trying to argue against it for some reason. If you dont want to change them then why did create this thread?

Well. most people I ask simply say oh your cars rolling go buy some swaybars it will fix it.
I would like to know from someone who has raced their FD before and after making this modification and advise on what changes I will face. i.e. more push into corners or more over-steer. but overall times will be quicker.
I don't simply want to go buy any swaybars because someone thinks they look pretty and will add cred to their FD.
No personal offense intended.
