FD OEM wheels on an FC?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but after aquiring my new Brembos all around the car, I need to upgrade the rims on my FC. Currently they are 5x114.3, 15" and 6" wide (I think, its an '88 with sport susp.) I'm looking for OEM FD wheels as an upgrade, but my question is, can the OEM FD wheels fit on my FC? They are 16" x 8", 50mm offset, 5x114.3 bolt circle. I just dont want the insides of the tires (sides closest to the center of the car) rubbing the body (like, where the shocks are). If anyone can let me know if they will fit without any modifications, I'd appreciate it. And if they can, I'm looking to buy a set of them. Preferably with tires already on, and I don't care if they are used, just no major curb rash. Thanks all

I have a friend who's running FD wheels on the rear but I can't tell you about the front. I'd guess that if the rears fit the fronts will too.

You need spacers to run FD wheels. You should be able to find the size spacer needed by running a search in this section or the FC section.

I just looked for this info last night. I'm selling some OEM FD wheels, and an FC owner wanted to know if they would fit. The best info I could find on this forum was that the deepest offset you could be sure would work would be +38 mm. See: https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes-20/official-fc-wheel-fitment-thread-257700/
Since the FD wheels are +50, you'd have to run 12 mm spacers (almost 1/2") for them to work. Spacers are a worrisome compromise at 5 mm - I sure wouldn't be comfortable with them that thick.

i ran fd wheels on my 87 t2 back in 97... i since have moved to the whole fd.

fd wheels are a great upgrade for an fc. i believe i ran .5 spacers in the front and .3 in the rear. i did need to go to longer studs which were the most difficult part of the swap. i found them at speedsource in florida. i had the spacers made and had absolutely no balance problems.

I believe Crispy is running an FC with FD rims. Hubcentric spacers to get them to to work and have the proper stance on the FC. Stock FD wheels will fit out back but will be tucked in. Up front without spacers there is no way they will work.

With coilovers Crispy (I'm pretty sure) is running 245/45/16's all the way around .

After you look at spending $500 or so for rims/tires, $200-$300 on spacers it is almost cheaper getting aftermarket rims.

Series 5 T2/GTUs rims are 16x7 and weigh 16lbs.... no spacers needed.

I have spacers to make this work, 20 and 25mm studded spacer from Japan. This one is called wide thread spacer. Used for motorsports, can also be made hubcentric for FD wheels. 67.1.

These ones I can get with hubring for about $200.00 shipped for a set of four. This is usually about $275.00 or so new with shipping from japan.

Thanks a lot guys - macdaddy, that was me asking the question, and me bidding on the wheels

I found the spacers I need (half an inch to one inch), I just sure as hell hope they work ok. If not at least I can mount the FD wheels on the back for the meantime - my tires are almost bald. Right now I'm using the stock 15"x6.5" GXL wheels (balogney cutters), so we'll see how it goes. But it seems like finding FD wheels is harder than shopping for spacers!
