FD-Koni Yellow Question

FD-Koni Yellow Question…

I’m about to install the Koni Yellow with PFS/Ebiach springs that drop the height 3/4" . I wanted to know which collar height should I use on the Koni Yellow with this setup?

Any help will be appreciated.

I have searched, but couldn’t find much information.

Eiback pro-kits? Try the highest perch in front, middle in the rear.

I can't remember now how everybody set those, only a few ever got them. Middle F/R might work to start, and then you'd know where you want to go if it isn't exactly what you want.

IIRC, those lower the car more evenly F to R than those stupid pro-kits.

I had that same exact setup. IIRC, I had them both on the highest setting. Or maybe that was the middle setting.... Hmmm...

Either way, Peter is correct. The ride height is pretty even so no need to run the rears at a different perch.

Nice setup for street.

Problem...

I have mounted both the strut assembly up front... Now, I am having a problem getting the strut in the lower A-arm nuckle.

I have tried the pry it in and it is not working...

Do I need to shave the lower bushing in the Koni??

I am stuck.

you might, as you really wont hurt the shock's performance at all. but i would try and pry the lower arm apart and force it in there. suspention ALWAYS does this when you are putting new stuff in. its such a pain in the ***...

The recessed portion in the suspension arm you have noted in the photo isn't fixed. It's actually a pressed-in bushing. I used a bolt, and a washer big enough to cover the recess to "press" it out a little... in otherwords the bolt head should be on the inside, against the bushing, and then have a washer bigger that the recess such that when you thread on a nut and tighten it, it will "pull" the bushing towards the outside of the arm...

then you can get the shock back in. It recompress when you tighted the bolt to fasten the schock.

That doesn't look like a Koni...

I had a similar problem after installing a set of coilovers whose width was slightly smaller than the stock or Koni strut in that area. I wasn't able to reinstall the Konis or stock shocks w/o shaving some material off of the shock in that area. I just mounted a sanding pad to my drill and sanded away until it finally fit.

What a f'in pita. I've been trying to block that memory out of my mind till now... ;(

Finally done installing the suspension.

Just took the car out of my driveway and the front tires started to rub.. 245-all around..

I will have to use the top perch in the front.

This suspesion job is taking more time than the turbo job.. dammmmmmmmm

Thanks!!

I will post a pic when I am finally done..

Deepdezal... how did those work out for you?

I'm going to be putting Koni Yellows on my FD with the Eibach pro kit. I have stock rims and 225's on the car. Should I stick with the top perch all around? Don't want to lower the car any more than the springs already do.

Thanks!
