FD fender rolling, which part to roll?
Hi,
I'm about to roll the front fenders on my FD. I'd like to know which area do you roll normally? Only the top arch between the two tabs or more than that? It's to fit 18x10 +50 wheels.
Here is a pics for reference:
Thanks

rolling fenders is done on the car. but just consists of bending that edge back on itself. really needs to have the tires on it and sitting on the ground to see actually how much of the arch needs rolled. and turning the wheels lock to lock to make sure they clear everywhere, not just when they're straight. might even need to pull the top of the fender out to clear when turning.

maybe roll this much?

Yeah, on the FD for just a minor front fender lip roll-
you need to remove that hardware from the upper two tabs and roll just past the top two tabs flat with the outer fender contour and then blend beyond the tabs back into the stock lip contour.
You didn't state the tire width or how much camber you are going to run- so I can't tell you if you will need more than just the lip rolled under.
_____________
On the FD for a roll with pull I highly recommend trimming those two tabs off of the fender so you have a continuous width fender lip and then start the roll and pull. If you don't do this the outside of the fender will crease where the tabs are behind it when you are doing your fender arch pull. You will be pulling the same area as the roll- just past the edges of where the upper two tabs were to blend the wheel arch shape.

Blue TII, love that pic dude. Pretty sure you got that wheel from me right? Works GTC for the wheel?
Yup, I purchased a really clean Nardi D-cut and the RE-Amemiya wheel from you.
I just cleaned that RE-A one up a bit, but didn't try to do anything about the inner seam yet since I am racing with it, so it is just getting more wear/tear.
The flip up hub that helps my fat *** get in/out of the Brides easier is indeed the Works Bell.
This model is the "Rapfix GTC-R Hybrid" which is just like the GTC, but has the big handle from the GTC-R race model where you reach can just reach through with your finger-tips and tug to get it to swivel up, but has the traditional 6 bolt production car steering wheel bolt pattern instead of the GTC-R's traditional 3 bolt race car steering wheel bolt pattern (thus "Hybrid").
You can also get the GTC-R and use the WB 3 hole to 6 hole converter. But you will have less room for your horn button connectors and another piece to work loose (although being able to expand your steering wheel collection to race wheels would be sweet).
I tried to use the older unedited pic of my car from the rx7club because you can see the wheel/tire better, but the forum wouldn't let me link it. Let me try again. Nope- invalid url.
