Project Mu B-force. Don't need alot of heat to work and are easier on rotors then something like the Titan Kai. Best all around, often paired with the D1 rear pads for drifting but *rumor* has it that the D1s will fall apart if you do heavy grip duty with them. B-force all around gets  If you start to fade them you can move up to the next line they offer.

Since I use the PF01's, I guess that makes me a rock star minus the chicks, wild parties and various addictions. ;-)

I'm rockstar...I'm a rockstar...oh yeah...
Now where's my contract dang it?
Carlos...we know you're a "rockstar"

All things aside IMO:
Best street pad: OEM. Decent performance, progressive feel, long life, and NO DUST. Although I currently use Ferodo DS2500 street pad because I have an AP BBK up front. Still use OEMs in the rear though. 2 corners and they faded on the track though.

Best Combo Street/Track pad: None. Want to take it on the track buy dedicated track pads.

My Track pads: PF 01 front, 93 rear. Nice initial bite, decent coefficient of friction, rotor friendly from a wear perspective, minimal dust. I've also used Hawk Blue (9012) on the FD... better initial bite than the PF pads but phenominal braking ability, but at the expesne of horrendous dusting. I've used Hawk black on my ITS car with success also but it weighs a good 600lbs less than the FD.

FWIW,
Crispy

Just to say my opinion, i have tested the Hawk pads on a stock fd, on a pretty small track about 1900 meters long. And i had no brake fading after 15 laps.

But i have tried a few other pads after this and i have found two very nice pads. They are called Ferodo and Pagid. They have difrent types for difrent use. But they all work excelent on the track. But they are pretty expensive pads.

But i have never had brakes that feels so good.

But u also must understand that racing brake pads must be run in the right way. My ferodo pads i have now need to be run in hard. 10-20 hard braking at speeds above 80mph.

Im running Ferodo 2500 on AP Racing 6 pots on my FD now and they are amazing, i can brake about 75 meters later then before with stock brakes. But still they where amazing on stock brakes also.

"Hawk pads" is not specific enough to tell us anything useful. Hawk makes many different compounds.

Neither Ferodo nor Pagid make any pads that fit the stock FD calipers, AFAIK.

Ferodo DS2500 pads are street pads.

The Hawk HP+ pads dust a lot and can squeal (though mine did not squeal much). They have good initial bite and I like the way they feel. But they will still fade at the track (mine did) and I don't consider them to be track worthy.

I run porterfields ( I forgot which one, the street pad) on the street and Hawk Blacks on the track. I'm looking for a replacement for the Hawk Blacks as they dust to much and eat up my rotors.
I will have to try the PF 01...where is the best place to get them?

Try the N-tech Lapping Day pads first, as Mahjik and Ptrhahn recommend. I'll be trying them here soon with my Stoptechs. The PFC 01s rock but are fricking $300/set....

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but when you say "93 rear" are you using stock pads in back? I've been using n-tech competition in front and either stock or hawk hps in the back (on the assumption that the rear is mostly just along for the ride). Now I need to replace the rear rotors and pads so I'm re-thinking what to do in back.

I switch the front n-tech pads for hps after I leave the track, but I'd rather not have to switch the rears also, so I'm looking for a street/track combo for the rear. I do very little street driving.

Check this thread:

https://www.rx7club.com/suspension-wheels-tires-brakes-20/n-tech-competition-compound-440657/

You'll see a quite a few of us who are using the N-Tech pads on the front are running a street pad on the rear.

He meant the Performance Friction "93" compound.
