(FD) AP Racing 13.0" brake install question

For those with AP Racing 13.0" front brake kits on their FDs, did the double-flare to AN adapters you received with your kit have the proper hex-with-one-rounded-corner shape to clip into the stock brackets, or were they just a plain hex shape? If so, did you round off one corner until they fit the OEM brackets so you could use the stock retainers/clips?

The adapters I got in my RX-7 Store kit (drop-shipped from Stillen) are hex shaped and won't fit into the stock brackets as-is. Before I take a Dremel to one corner, I wondered if anyone got parts that actually fit, or if you found another FD-specific adapter that did, or did you just round one corner off and call it good?

They're cad plated, so I'd rather not screw up the finish if I don't have to. If I do, I'll probably just tape the threads and paint them to keep them from rusting.

Thanks!
