Question fc3s 18 inch rims?

i'm a newbi- i was going to get new rims for my fc. right now i have 17x7 w/215-40-17 all around. it looks ok but i want staggered w/a big lip. what would get me a big lip and not rub the stock fenders.
would 18x8 +30 F & 18x9 +20 R work with 225-40-18 F & 235-40-18 (nice drifter streched wall) if those offsets wont work here are all of them +50,+42,+35,+30 F (18x8) & +20,+35,+43 R (18x9) or maybe +20 (18x10).
what will work with stock fenders and i might get 30mm fenders f&r.

To determine how much lip you can get I'll need to know what your budget is for wheels only? What is your budget?

18's in front will look a bit too big if you are using the stock front bumper. You'll need a GP or Msports kit for it to look right. Regardless tell me your budget and i'll tell you a fitment based on a particular wheel. The lip depth will depend on what kind of wheel design you choose, along with offset.

Will you be purchasing a big brake kit in the future? If you get brakes up front you lose lip. Rear lip is not affected.

Have you already ordered the kit? ARe you getting an authentic one? What about the fenders? Are you doing those for sure? Can you shoot me a couple of wheel styles you like so I can crunch numbers? The higher part of your budget will definitely allow for lippage/multipiece wheels. I'll work those numbers once you show me some designs. Here's my FC, GP kit with Meisters.

I have 20mm front and 50mm rear

FYI, I have the GP kit in stock and the fenders as well. If you're interested we're clearing out inventory before the end of the year.

lippage

i ordered a knockoff gps kit already and as for fenders not for a while i was thinking some wheel spacers when i order them. though i am willing to roll the fenders if nessasary. the rims i like those 5 star volks, gram lights, or g-games. the g-games seem the most affordable. and those offsets i listed were for the g-games. my main concern is what will fit with the stock fenders 18x8, 9, 10 and what offsets for f&r?
thanks for all your help and knowledge on the situation

For the most part, well 99% of the time you will find 20mm front and 30mm rear. I have those in stock. We're clearancing out the 30mm rears we have. Email me please if you are interested: sales@autornd.com

Frankly, don't go spacers if you don't have to. Determine what you are going to do with your fenders and i'll spec out wheels for you.

If you do that I would suggest an 18x9 and 10.0 setup. I can recommend offsets and provide you with some good wheel options that have lippage. Please email me with a YES on fenders, or NO. Then I'll spec it out and we can move forward in one foul swoop.

My rec with 20mm front and 30mm rear is:

9" +10 to +15, and 10.0" +0 to +10.

If not then I suggest 8" +30 and 9.0 +30, or 9.5 +35.

IT all comes down to what kind of tire stretch and fender rolling you want to do. This is a very gray area and very relative to the final setup. This is why i suggest you determine which way to go and then make a decision.

To determine wheel lip depth, you will alway have a larger lip if the wheel spoke curves like a knuckle. Similar to the Meister S1, or SSR SP1, or AME Circlar Spec R.

The AME Spec R can produce insane lip depths in high offsets. This is what I'm running on my RX8.

The Wheel Below is in a 8" +35 offset, yours would be 5mm bigger in the FRONT. Notice how the spoke has a knuckle which adds to the lip depth while also providing a lot of Brake Caliper clearance. Two benefits too the knuckle.

This here is a 50mm lip. That's Marlboro 100's PACK TOO. BIG DADDY. YOUR LIP WITH THIS WHEEL WOULD BE 55mm in the FRONT on stock fenders. In rear it would be 87mm, that's like 3.5" rear on stock fenders. Now that's for this wheel, all wheels will be a little different but you get the idea of what to look for now in a wheel design to maximize lip in high offset applications.

Now if you got fenders you can easily add one inch to the front and another 1.5" to the rear in lip depth. That's like 3.25 and almost 5.0. insane.

how about 18x8 +30 & 18x9 +35 would that be ok?
or should be equal?
someone at a discount tire direct to get 8 +42 & 9 +35 But it sounds like the front would be flush w/the lip?

Be patient and order these one time and get them in the right fitment. the 9 +35 will work but you won't get max lippage out of the wheel. THe +42 won't work don't do it. I'm basing this off you buying coilovers. If you want wheels PM me and i'll get you pricing on a few wheels with the lip depth you want in your budget.

How much and which wheels are the ones from Discount tire?
