Question FC : quick spring rate question

Hey everyone,

i'm planning on getting some new suspension, i had a quick question though, for a part time track car and weekend street car, would a 400/400 spring rate be too stiff? i've never really seen anyone run the same spring rate all around, but then again i'm clueless when it comes to the rates. anyone have any input? i'll be running 17x8f and 17x10r , hope someone can help, thanks!

A typical 8 Kg/mm front 6 Kg/mm rear spring setup equates to 447 lb/in front and 335 lb/in rear.

Try 450 or 475 in the front and 350 in the rear to start. It will be liveable on the street and pretty good on the track if you aren't using race tires. If you are using race tires, you will want to go stiffer.

400/400 in the rear is going to be quite loose. Start on 400/300 and go from there, especially if its a street car. Your stagger might have some funny reactions too, I only have experience with equal width all around for now.

For a mostly street car I would agree with that. He has a V8 in the car.. so I think the stagger will help.

i like 8k/6k a lot. i would even go stiffer, but i think that would be out of my damper's range (i have flex's valved for 6k/5k).
and yah, i wouldnt run same rate all around. the rear is dancy enough as is.
