FC brake replacement

What's up guys. I have a 89' vert and I've been hearing this annoying sound (sounds like a train stopping) when I'm braking under 10mph. I just want to replace the rotars and pads. What will be a good investment? I was thinking these, StopTech BKB303159 Sport Drilled & Slotted Brake Disc and Pad Kit | Auto Parts Warehouse or if not, will it be better to just buy them at AutoZone? My FC is just a daily driver.

Skip the drilled and slotted rotors. Pick up premium quality blank rotors from Centric, and the same Posi Quiet pads than come in that kit. The cost will be less than half of that kit, performance will be the same or better.

Most any "professional" or "premium" labeled rotor will be a safe bet.

Expect $25-$30 per corner for rotors.

The Centric StopTech pads are $32.79 for the rear and $36.79 for the front.

This is all assuming you have 4 pot front brakes and vented rear rotors.

Which ones are the 4 pot front rotors? Are they the same thing as 4 piston brakes?

If you have 5 lugs the front rotors are the same.

You may have solid or vented 5 lug rear rotors.

I have a 89' vert, but if I did have solid, can I still get vented or do I have to stick to solid?

Actually my s5 vert should have vented rear brakes as well. I will confirm that by looking at them tomorrow during the day. I did some research to find that out. https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...rotors-768440/

yep, 4 pot = slang term for 4 piston calipers.

the rear brakes on a vert are the vented ones, but doesn't hurt to double check.
