Falken Azenis or Kuhmo Ecsta's ?
Well I go through rear tires too much to get really expensive ones. Can you tell me which yall have had experience with and the pro's and cons. These will be on stock 91 TII rims probably 225 50's. Thanks

I have falken azenis on my n/a. I really like them because they are sticky in dry surfaces and in the rain. I mainly run my car up in the canyons where theres lots of tight turns. The tires made me faster At 75-80 dollars a piece, I think theyre good for the money.
My friend bought some kuhmo's for his 01 mustang gt and he likes them (hes mostly a drag racer). I personally dont know how good these tires are :p

I mainly want some good tires in dry weather. Performance in the wet isnt as nec. b/c I kinda take it easy or get sideways on purpose. But I dont want something undrivable in the rain b/c I still drive in the ****. Thanks.

Well I just got my Falken Data book, so if you need info like shipping weight and such I have that. Not sure how that translates into actual weight, but you can compare the difference in weight between the sizes.
Anyways, it's a 200AA, so at least it won't wear out in like 2000 miles, but still sticky. All it keeps repeating is excellent dry weather performance, nothing about rain.
Where are you guys currently sourcing these and how much do they run you in what size?
I thought the treadwear rating was much lower, thanks for making me look into this. The only thing I need now is my darn price list, cause that's cheeeaaaapp.
Cool **** around tires in the dry. Shall I say RP01, 17,8 and 18,9.5 on the T2 with AZENIS as an expendable commodity. hehe. 225/45 and 245/40/18. Wish they made a 265/35.
I have the section widths and stuff too in this book. Let me know if there's something you want me to look up.

I was looking at getting them form discount tire. They have them as listed
Falken Azenis
195/60HR-14 $44 (for the miata)
215/45ZR-16 $99 (front TII rims)
225/50VR-16 $90 (rear TII rims)
Kumho 712's
215/40ZR-16 $80
225/50ZR-16 $81
Thats the prices for those at Discount right now. Seems pretty good to me. Thanks for the input.

Azenis RS
Interesting tire. I see that they have sizes that will fit my SSR Comps--235/45-17 for my 8.5 x 17; and 255/40-17 for 9.5 x 17!
http://www.falkentire.com/html/index.htm
The tread pattern's very aggressive, and would suit a driver's school or lapping day at the track; yet with a UTQG of 200, the Azenis RSes should last a full season of motorsports driving?
What's the noise level like with the Azenis on the highway? I hope they're not as noisy as the Yokohama A032Rs!
I wonder what prices Rishie can get me in my sizes, once I burn up my Hoosiers

Well ****, there aren't many sizes available and the Falken rep said that they are not going to be producing the 17" sizes. On top of that, they will be changing the model or adding another one in the same category in which they will make the 17's available.
My distriubtor has the 225/50's on backorder, but I would have only been able to match that price as there is no money in anyt tires below $200.00 really.
Thanks, Rishie
2 months or so for the release of the new tire that will have 17" sizes, sorry Manny.

Both Khumos 712s and Falkens are noisy.
The Falkens sound like the Yokohama A032Rs, just a bit quieter. Grips very well (dry) for the price, better than a lot of higher priced tires. People use it around the world for rally and track racing. Works well for autocross and roadcourses (melts like A032s).
Khumos 712s are plain noisy, IMO like Sears road holder. Dry traction is average. Don't expect too much on autocross and road courses.
Drove both of them on friends car at autocross and track. I don't have any experience of them on wet conditions though.
