Engine paint for calipers?

Im doing a brake job on the rx on Sunday, and got the pads and such today. I'm wanting to paint the calipers dark blue, but they didn't have any caliper paint in blue. Only red, yellow, silver, and black. The temp rating on the paint was 500F, and it said it had ceramic in it, all for $16. I found dark blue engine paint with a temp rating of 500F, with ceramic, for $3 something I think. Will it work? Flake off after a while? What do you guys think?

I have used gloss black hi-temp engine paint for all my cars' brakes and never had any problems with it. Why buy a 40 dollar kit when you can spend 4 bucks on one can? Looks 100% the same to me.

Go to pep boys, you can get a temp of high temp. caliper paint for $7 and it will turn out beautiful. Also i would recommend giving your calipers a good cleaning before hand. I put a steal brush bit on my dremel and it helped the paint stick alot better and came out smooth and even.

It should be fine, provided you don't regularly track the car.

did you mask off the bolts? or did you pull them, if so what do you need to do as not to screw up the seal between the halfs of the caliper?

thanks
