I agree with Mr. Fookn on all prospects with this one, both on the definition of a drift and the No parking lots thing. Yeah, bad idea.
I feel for your friend Vic. Cops, Court, and Money all seem to go together real well in the same sentence.
Join some drift events if one must, is the moral of the story.

make sure u know your car ... u can feel the weight transfer, it's not about light back and heavy front, the best cars are setup 50/50 ... there are people who even drift midengine cars like mr2's and fieros. Be one with the drift

There are ways to set up legal drift events. I have!
It is possible to set up legal drift events. It takes some work and some negotiatoins but I have done it.
I ran two drift events last summer. I am a Racing Organizer for AARRF. I have started work on my own drift club. Unfortunately I've never drifted and did not feel comfortable pulling information off other pages. My club/racing organization is DriftUnderground. Our website and forum is up but we don't have much for content.
After watching the drifters have so much fun I bought my FC to join the fun. I'd love to help people in other areas set up safe legal and fun drift events.
Back on topic. I was looking at JIC suspension for my FC. A friend of mine at a local shop called Project D can hook me up with some JIC gear.
A big part of me says to just replace all of my FCs shot bushings and shocks, stick with the factory suspension for a while and learn to drift from there. Maybe add toe elinators.
Will my FC be ok with Stock springs, toe eliminators and a set of new shocks? Then moving up to JIC gear later after I have some seat time.
