Do hard fd trailing arm bushings wear out pillow *****?
My question is, does installing "upgraded" trailing arm bushings wear out the pillow ***** that they bolt to? The reason that i pose this questions is. I just took apart my rear suspension to install some springs and put in some new bushings. I started inspecting my pillow ***** when i did this. I found that all but the trailing arm pillow ***** were worn out. That was interesting to me and got me thinking actually. How come those werent worn out? The other thing i was starting to think was, should i install my lube groove delrin bushings that i have for the rear trailing arms? If these were the only pillow ***** that were not worn out maybe i shouldnt? Or maybe if i do those will become the only ones that wear out in the future? I'm really not sure at this point. The one thing that i know is, the bushings in the rear trailing arms are designed to induce a toe in and toe out condition depending on acceleration or breaking. It does this to increase stability under acceleration and breaking and this information is taken directly out of jack yamaguchi's book about the fd rx7 and is obtained directly from mazda.
What is everyones take on this?
