Re: Do anyone know a rep at Tirerack.com??

I'm so pissed off right now..

I tried to buy some hub centric rings for my new SSR and the Salesrep was being a little *****.. He wouldn't sell it and was complete ***.. Makes me NEVER want to buy anything from them.. And I even bought 2 set of wheels from them in the past..

I need to know where I could get it or if anyone know of someone at tirerack who is willing to sell this to me..

PHIL

Re: Re: Do anyone know a rep at Tirerack.com??

This is a sure sign of a business that is making too much money... when I called to ask about replicating your 10.5" SSR fitments, the guy couldn't get off the phone fast enough, as soon as as he found out I wan't going to plop down $3300 bucks right then and there to get a set...

They used to not be this way... their reps would practically shoot the **** with you in discussing brands, fitments, options, etc... and i've bough two sets of wheels and tires from them for that reason.

Sorry to hear about your troubles

I think its the salesman.. I've politely asked him about buying one set.. And he asked me if I bought the wheels from them.. I said no.. But at the sametime they are the only ones selling SSR Comps.. He said i should go thru the selller.. What a crock.. I've told him I have bought other rims from them before and he asked for my info.. then he said, "well, it seems like last time you bought anything was 3 years ago".. Like I needed to buy set of rims every year or something.. What an ***.. I bought 2 sets and 8 tires from them.. Over 3G's.. and I can't buy set of hub rings that only cost maybe 35bucks total??

Loke i say... they're making too much money. There are too many folks with enough money to buy a set a year like you suggest... so why should they bother with you?

I must say, its always cracked me up when a company won't sell you something because you didn't buy something else from them. Its just not good business. What are you going to do? Sell your set off SSRs and buy a new set from them to get $50 centering rings? Ridiculous... So long as they charge you more than they pay for the rings, its profit just like any other dollar made... and maybe some good will for when yoyr tires wear out.

I'd call back, see if you can speak to a manager, and get that ******* fired.

herblenny... go here and you can choose the size
http://www.1010tires.com/hubrings.asp

all you gotta know is the diameter of the hub (inside diameter) and the diameter of the wheel centerbore (outside diameter)

Actually Phil, this is probably a better idea. The stock to make them is probably about $15. Let me know if you are still interested.

Wow, I've always had good experiences with the salestaff there. I've dealt with both Luke (ext 362) and Walt (ext 372) and someone else I can't remember.

I'll measure it tomorrow morning.. or later on today....

I'm going to call tirerack and talk to the manager.. if they still wouldn't sell the damn thing to me, I'll make sure I'll never to business with them and make sure others don't either.. .. There are ton of other tire/wheel places in this country..

You need a 73 to 67.1 mm centerbore ring. If they gave you those specs, you should be fine...

Well, I don't know.. she said these were for their SSR.. which I assume the same.. but she started to saying she don't know since I didn't buy the wheels from them.. And when I tried to explain to her that all the SSR comp wheel should have the same size hub and she tells me I don't know.. that was my answer from all toward the end.. and finally she tells me no guarantee..

Well, We'll see when it gets here.. I might call her and ask her about the ring dimension.. but I'm sure she'll say I don't know..

Honestly, they probably don't know, since those rings are packaged with their vehicle-specific wheels. I wonder if centerbore ring dimensions even show up on their computer screens; and even if the specs did show, the Tire Rack reps are probably trained to plead ignorant to limit their liability from sending possibly incorrect fitting rings for wheels they didn't sell you.

I distinctly recall my centering rings labeled as 73-to-67 mm. They are very high quality black powder-coated aluminum with retaining springs that keep them in place. I don't recall the manufacturer? Perhaps Mille Miglia? Don't quote me. It's been 2 years since I've had my SSR Comps LOL
