I'm pretty sure that in order to get the biggest lip possible you need the lowest offset possible.

What you need to acquire a deep rim lip is a low pad requirement and low offset. however a low pad will have a bigger outer lip than a high pad in a three piece wheel with the same offset and width.

This is all based upon your future brake upgrades. Contact me for more details. There are several variables involved when trying to acheive this type of thing on a high offset vehicle like the FD.

deep dish rims

Here is a picture of some Borbet rims that I just put on a few weeks ago. The lip is over 3" deep, but is difficult to see it due to the plating. Tire size is 255/40/17. and the rim size is 17x9.5.

well I'm keepting the TDs unless I find soemthing with a super deep lip. I jsut love those rims

I remember seeing an FD in a mag a while back that had soem extremely deep rims on. they were 18" or 19" wheels with what looked like a at least a 4 or 5" lip in the back. The wheels had a mazda symbol on them. Any one know what these are? I can't find the mag (haha could I be more vague )

If you like those, go to www.braidwheels.com then go to 3 piece wheels. They have many similar much nicer wheels. The mat finish cast look on a five spoke just doesn't get it. Check the site, you'll be impressed. Those wheels in a standard fd fitment, 3 piece would run around 1600-1800 delivered. Carl BycBTW I like the sepang, or the 6m, 8m

The owner of the car is Cesar of the Houston RX7 Club. Try posting to:

http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/htxrx7/

to see where he sourced his. Don't have his email handy, but you might try contacting Dr Killjoy (South Forum mod, and prez of HTRX7 Club) to see if he has it. Up until I took that pic above, I had not seen that model before.

Yup, and he has a widebody kit on the car. They won't fit on a stock Fd.
