The cross-drilled holes are supposed to be chamfered to reduce stress and heat.
Those stripped fasteners are just to keep the brake disks from falling off when the car moves around the assembly line at the auto factory. You can throw them away.

You guys are killin me. I didnt make these or drill these rotors. They are made by a rotor manufacturer who makes rotors for all kinds of people. I ordered em, they made em and shipped em. These are not homemade, just purchased directly from the manufacturer. He didnt have em on the shelf so he had to make em thats all. Sorry if I mislead ya fellas.
Basically, I am replacing my rotors w/drilled replacement ones and installing EBC RED STUFF pads thats it.

How in the world did I waste my money? If you knew what I paid for these you wouldnt be sayin that. These rotors are just as good as stock ones and since I'm not installin a bigger brake package what is so bad about what I did? I needed new rotors & pads and this I what I went with. I only drive the car 2-3k miles a year anyway & I dont drive this car on a road corse.
What kinda rotors (brakes) do you have, I would like to know.

I dont see how its a waste of money either, and if he knew what I paid for the 4 rotors (barely more than the pads) he would....well you know.
I really wanted bigger rotors/calipers (looks mainly) but I dont think theres really much performance gain for me since the car is never on a road-course track. Honestly, my biggest problem is getting the rear tires to hook up!
Love the comments though, whatever they are.

cross drilled rotors are a waste of money if they're a dollar more expensive than blanks. they give you NO benefit whatsoever, other than reduced surface area (if you're into that kinda thing).
drilled carbon brakes on ferraris or whatever are not the same lol
but if you just did it for asthetics, than its all good. since thats all theyre for

Cross-drilled rotors project thread....
Well I'm very satisfied w/the brake job. I knew the car could use brakes, even though it seemed to stop ok. Just goes to show how over periods of time, things are allowed to decay, change, grow, etc. in very small doses. Consistent, but small, allowing them to seem normal or up to spec.
I can tell a serious difference in the pedal. Much less travel and car has that "when you use the brakes I'm gonna throw ya foward" feeling. Mainly, I'm sure because the old pads were half the thickness of the new ones. Naturally, the old rotors were thinner as well.
As for the looks, if anyone thought they didnt look better than stock ones, they would be wrong.
