Confused on what tire size to put on ... HELP !!!

I've been searching and found one thread that helped a bit but not enough

I have
17 x 8 and
17 x 9

offsets are 35 on each

For the front I want to run 225/45/17 and on the rear 255/45/17

do you guys have any comments or suggestions on what I can run or if i should run a 40 in the back (whats the benefit of 40 vs 45)

255 / 40 / 17 is closer to stock rolling diameter.

No benefit.
Those are the sizes which match the stock rolling circumference the closest and widest tires for your given wheel widths.
Well, you can go 235's up front to decrease the stagger a little.

you can fit a 275/40r17 out back on a +35 offset if you roll the edge of the fender lip.

I have pics of my car back when it was red, wearing 235 fronts and 255 rears on the same 17x8/9 +35 setup you have if you want to see pics, theyre the black fno1rcs.

some people have run a 245 up front with rolling the fender lipa nd it depends on your strut clearance mostly too.

Sorry, but it's obvious you didn't read the tech links if you still have to ask that. Or you didn't understand them. Go back and reread "how to read a tire" or "aspect ratio" or whatever the section is called.

Running much wider tires at the rear will generally result in the car plowing like a tractor.

i obviously understand that. i just didnt know the exact dimension and dynamics would effect an fc. i also wanted more information then that .. i.e. clearence from the strut and what would be to wide with non-rolled lips
