Ground Control if you just want the adjustable springs. If you want a full coilover kit....there are tons of good manufacturers. Teins are good.

What and how do you define "good"?

Are you looking for a true coilover setup or just a spring and shock combo w/ an adjustable height "collar"?

Also, what is your particular price range?

There are a quite a few brands to choose from. It just depends on how much you are willing to spend and the particular characteristics of certain coilovers.

Elaborate on this, and then I will mention a few brands. If I were to throw out brands to you, it would mean nothing at this point, as I don't know what you are looking for in particular.

ok here is the deal. I have an 86' i built for drag racing. I put a V8 in it because tourqe is your friend in the 1/4 mile. the only problem is this is getting boring. so im looking into autoX. i dont have power steering. the suspension is still original and kinda worn out so i want to replace it since its harder to turn with the v8 in it. I am looking for something low in price but that will last me a long time and work well with both drag and autoX. Im looking to spend around 2k max.

$2k will buy you pretty much anything you please. My personal recommendation(since I'll be getting a set myself in a month or two) would be Cusco. Corksport carries them, and they are NICE. Top quality. What class are you planning on racing in? Not many options with a motor swap. =P

I would suggest looking to see which class you would like to be in, before you spend money on parts.

If you spend money on parts, and realize that the cars in your particular class (due to your modifications) grossly outpower you,...you will have to spend more money to compensate OR you will have to spend money just to be in a different class. And you will not be able to "enjoy" your car as much.

Also, some manufacturers offer custom spring sizes, which adds even more "customization" for the consumer.

You don't have to win or even be competitive to have fun at autox... you can still have a great time and learn a lot even if you suck. I stopped doing autox because it's just not an effective use of my time and money...

10 autox events = $20x10 = $200, and 10 sundays eaten up plus sunburn, with maybe 50 minutes of actual track time between them all.

One trackday = $200, one day eaten up, probably 2 hours of track time, no sunburn from chasing cones for 2 hours and you get to do 120+ on a race track and watch yourself improve lap after lap.
