Coilover vs. Tokiico 5 way and some springs?
Would like to drop the car a little bit to get a more aggressive stance and pick up on some performance.
I have seen what H&R's drop cars, and I heard that Coilovers need to be rebuilt...but how often? I know I would get TEIN's, or JIC's for my subie, just not sure what works best with the FD?
Thanks,
Britten

I've heard, Koni yellows with Eibachs are great..
I have a friend here with H&R with Koni yellows and he loves it!
Coilovers... well, they are nice.. especially if you are thinking about changing the height and stuff.. but seriously, how often are you going to do that? and your camber will change as you change the height of the car..
I don't want to mess with that.. too much trouble..

Just put on my Tokico/H&R combo a month ago...love the look and feel!
On the contrary, my neighbor's car (Buzzfish) isn't as low as mine and he has Koni/Eibach. Plus I have heard amny people with rubbing problems with Eibach (??)
P.S. suspension is not on the car in my sig

I've just installed Bilsteins and H&R's on my car. Unfortunately I can't comment on the performance, look or feel of the car yet since I have an engine to do before I can drive it again. If this thread is still around in a couple of weeks, I'll post some pictures.

Mako-
Definitely let us know how you like the H&R + Bilstein combo. This is what I want to try. I have read about the R1 Showa and Konis with the H&R, but no Bilstein info. Keep us posted!

I have tokico with H&R's , there ok, lowers the car nice. But I ready to move on and get coilovers. I dont like the tokico becuase if you adjust over the 3rd setting the car bounces.

BTW Brit, I don't know if you remember me, we e-mailed each other a while back about FDs to buy (you sent me some links and pics, gray FEED car, red FD w/ carbon fiber hood, etc.). Anyway, I picked one up a few weeks ago. WTH are you going to quit asking questions and put one in your garage?!

I'll be sure to make a thread with all the work I'm doing to my car. I've polished the rear suspension components, added Racing Beat sway bars, Rotary Extreme trailing arms and toe links, and of course gone with the set of Bilsteins and H&R's. The wheel wells are pretty colorful now. My brake calipers are black with the 'Mazda' on the front calipers polished. I've also gone with stainless lines all around. I decided not to polish the front suspension parts this time because they looked like more work than I was ready to deal with for the time being. I was also running low on polishing materials. I'll be stopping by Mazda tomorrow to pick up my ball joint bushings so I can replace the cranky ones in the lower control arms. I'll be sure to get plenty of pictures loaded off my digital camera for when I post. Thanks for the interest note, roadsterdoc.

SpeedKing,
I should have one in less than a month. The car is going in for a rebuild from Banzi Racing then it will be put on a truck with only tunning miles on it and shipped to me. =) Will let you know.
