chrome vs jap

So I have been on the forum for a while reading whats what so I thought I might start making a contribution to this great site . After owning a set of 19 inch chrome AME's for several years I decided to change the look of the car as my own tastes have changed . I managed to score a set of TE37's in black so thought what the hell . I have decided to go for the jap racer look and get rid of all the **** off **** ! I scored a set of semi slicks too to make it that authentic track car look . I was shocked when I decided to weigh the rims back to back just to see the difference . Old rim and tyre weighed 26KG ( 57.3lbs) , new rim and AO48 tyre weighed in at just 19KG ( 41.9 lbs ) !!!!!!! Thats nearly 30% weight saving each corner for nothing . not only that but its unsprung weight too so should make a crap load of difference with the handling etc . I'm never going back to chromies again after seeing the difference .
I was a bit sceptical at whether black on black would look any good but I dont mind it personaly . Anyway here is some pics for your comment -

Been considering a wheel makeover along thoose lines myself, the dress up look is sooo 90,s although the technipolish Fikse ALWAYS look good, stealthy Volks are more current,I think they would look killer in a dark bronze or something like that.
