Choosing wheels-Volks vs BBS

Hi guys. I own a series 8 blue fd...I love it At the moment it's completely stock but in the not too distant future I wanna give her some nice rims. I'm very much into Volks and BBS, and love them for their ultra light weight and strength. I know there is a substantial cost difference, but I'm thinking either:
-Volk CE28N (dark colour, bronze or maybe black)
-BBS RR http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheel...s_lm_ci3_l.jpg
But with black centres.

What are your thoughts? Are the BBS worth the extra money? Are they any lighter or stronger than the Volks?

I would love to see pics of fd's with these wheels, preferably in blue. Thanks alot guys

You will probably have this thread moved the suspension, brakes, and wheels.

Check out the Tirerack.com website. It can show you different wheels on your car in different colors.

I like the looks of both BBS and Volk rims, I think it just ends up being personal preference and the look you want for your car.

If you consider weight, strength, price, and looks; I found the Enkei RPF1s to score the highest.

Of course, "looks" is personal preference. But I'd get the Volks over the BBS.

work>bbs>volk for looks and price, but BBS is the BEST built wheel you can buy, especially the LM series wheel.

Thanks guys. Think I'll go with the volks coz they're cheaper and just so damn light! Now for the colour! I reckon Bronze is the one to go, any other suggestions for blue series 8 fd? (in terms of colour that is).

Just an opinion I guess, but BBS is a whole other world from Volk, Work, and Enkei.

I can appreciate the quality of BBS wheels, but for what I want from a wheel, the weight advantage of the volk has made my decision.

That being the case, try to get the CE28's in the mercury silver, gunmetal, or black instead of bronze.

BBS > VOLK , but I am biased right now Really nothing wrong with volks, other than their slooooow shipping.

As for work wheels, I really don't get why they're so popular, they are expensive, most of the posted weights I have seen were not what I would call lightweight and save for the meister and maybe the vsxx their lineup looks like *** IMO!

Bronze is my personal favorite color for rims. And it goes to just about any color car. I've had bronze on Red, White, Black, and Blue cars and it always looked ominous.

I'll probably powder coat my RPf1s bronze eventually.

man, thats a hard choice. ive always liked the CE28's, but the RR's are CLEAN!

i think if you're going more for a clean classic look, go with the BBS. you want something more noticeable and more modernish i guess you could say, go with the Volks.

Not too many wheels on par with BBS. HREs...maybe Fiske? Personally I'd take Volks since I don't really utlize what BBS and the like would offer. Take a look at RX7 Rages car. Black CE28s match his car perfectly. Not sure how much I'd like black on blue. I'd probably go with gold, but that's just me and depends on the blue.
