ce28n wheel size: Need expert opinion

I have a stock body fd3s. stock caliper & disk. Tein coilover.

I already bought ce28 wheel for the rear : 17" x 10JJ +45 offset

Now for the front wheel which size fit better ?

1. 17" x 8.5JJ +50 offset

OR

2. 17" x 9JJ +40 offset

I'm planning to put 275/40 rear and 245/45 front.

I don't want to modified the fender.

thank you.

275 on a 9 inch wide is a very baloonish tire and you will have to at least roll the fenders.

From my experience, a 245 on a 9 is perfectly square (not bulbous, and not stretched)

He said he already has 10j for the rear, should be ok for 275's. And I agree with miata mx5, the 9j will be nice and square for 245's and it would be a better choice than the 8.5+50's.

Thanks. I'll go with choice no.2. 17x9J +40 still can be fitted nicely at the front without having any rubbing problems right?

Yes, that size should fit. Worst case, if it's not 100 percent flush, you can always use a hubcentric spacer.

I'd go with 245/40 in the front rather than 245/45, the smaller sidewall looks more aggressive in my opinion. I ran that setup (with 275/40 rears) for many years and loved it.

Earlier I want to go with 245/40 but I want to maintain overall diameter of my front tires because i'm afraid 245/40 will make my car lowered even more.
With the current stock wheel with 225/55 tires my front bumper is even lower than yours in your sig.

I use this as a guide -> Current and future comparison

btw, I'm a fan of your car!

Update:

Almost been a year since I installed these wheels. Thanks everyone for giving me the right advise. I really love it , well it's my dream wheels after all.

Here are my specs for future reference:
F: 17x9 +40 with 245/45 tyres
R: 17x10 +45 with 275/40 tyres

suspension settings:
ride height around 25 inch all around
Camber : -1.4 all around
total toe in front : 3.2mm
Caster : 5+ degree
anything else is zero.

Yeah , I know my front undercover said "Hi". Drill and zip ties coming soon.

Thanks again.
