Budget tires

What 17 in tire would be good for the street and the wallet?
I have the opportnity to buy new Azzenzas (I think that is how it is spelled) for $60 a tire. The numbers are 205/40/R17. They are also H-rated. Is this a good deal? The car has coilovers and struts so I would still like somthing that grips nicely. Thanks

If you mean the Falken Azenis Sport ST-215 tires, they are great. Very sticky, a bit noisy, and they wear out faster than your average street tire. I'm on my second set on my daily driver, and I recently got some Azenis Sport RT-615 tires for my RX-7. I love both models of the Azenis Sport tires.

From a budget standpoint, the Azenis Sports are just okay. They have a relatively low price, but they wear out faster than most other tires. If performance is your main goal, they are a steal. If minimizing your per-mile tire costs is your main goal, you'd be better off with something else.

If that isn't what you meant, I recommend Ronjimoomagip tires. I think that's how it's spelled, but I'm too lazy to spend 36 seconds looking it up on google.

While they are great tires, 205/40/17 is nowhere near the proper size for our cars - that is a standard size for a Honda! They will look like rollerskate wheels on your FC, and make your speedo/odo way off. A 40 series tire on a 17" rim will need to be 245mm wide in order to be a proper +1 size.

While $60 a tire seems like a good deal, you can buy anything cheap in that size (especially H-rated) as every ricer and their brother want them. Keep shopping, you'll find some good deals in a more appropriate size and a higher speed rating. There are a few good and cheap options from Kuhmo and even Dunlop that you may want to consider.
