Brembo Blank Rear Brake Rotors

Ok I been trying to buy Brembo blank brake rotors for the front and rear of my 93 MB touring. Seems I have ran into a snag. The two places I tried to buy from say that that the rear Brembo blank rotors have been discontinued. So how can all these companies be selling slotted and drilled brembo brake rotors when they are slotted and drilled after casting? Can someone direct me to where I can get them before they are drilled and slotted? If they are just not produced anymore can someone direct me to a place that has them sitting on the shelf still. And lastly, if that is not possible what is another blank rear rotor that is of similar quality of the Brembo or at least OEM.

You can try this place:

http://www.alloemautoparts.com/

NOTE: The site doesn't seem Mozilla friendly. I'm not sure about other browsers but it seems to favor IE.

Autobarn has a decent deal on the front Brembo Blanks but they do not stock them so they are somewhere in transit I will call tommorrow to find out if they are on there way. If you get at least 150 in stuff they ship for free and they have a decent deal on HPS pads too. But they cancelled the rears with no explanation so I went to Buybrakes and they at least told me they were discontinued and offerd some other options. Powerslot (not and option I want blanks) and Centric Premium made in the USA for $97. Is that on ok rear rotor to use if I can not find the Brembos?

Ok neither one of those sites even had Brembo anything. Centric and Japan were the only blanks I saw on either. When you see the manufacture as Japan is that an OEM rotor or a cheap aftermarket replacement from Japan? Still need help finding my blanks.

Just get some rotors from the local parts store. Many, many people have been using those on the street and on the track for years with no problems. They'll be significantly cheaper than ordering anything online, and even if they need to be replaced sooner, the cheapness makes up for it.

Tirerack says they're in stock at $48 each.

EDIT: Asleep at the keyboard - those are the fronts.

Ok I went to Mazdatrix and they have the Mazda OEM rears for 142 each way too much. I guess the ones that Autozone and Kragen here in California will have is the cheap ones that just say aftermarket on the websites. Ordering online actually saves alot if I can get free shipping. 8.25 percent tax if I buy locally. Damn Cali taxes eat you up. What do I get for it the worst roads in America right here in San Jose according to some recent study. Anyhow Autobarn has Beck/Arnley for 119 each. Autopartswarehouse.com have what they call aftermarket (cheap) for 42 and what they call Japan which I believe is Japanese aftermarket for 79. Oh yeah the Brembos on Tirerack are fronts only. I need rears. Does anyone know how the RX7 store sale Brembo slotted or drilled rears when Brembo's website doesn't even have a part number for the rears. Suggestions are still welcome. I am gonna have Hawk HPS pads all around and I do not want my rear rotors getting worn quickly because they are made of some sort of low quality steel. If the 42 dollar rotors will do the trick then I'll price local stores and do the math and make my decision. Can other people speak of how cheap rears will hold up under hard street and monthly autocross?

More research Kragen has Raybestos, Beck/Arnley, and Bendix costing 100, 100, and 120 respectively. Not really cheap no names that I thought they would be. Does anyone have experience with these three brake rotors on the rear?
Autozone didn't even list rears on their website but Im sure they have some for similar prices. I wanted to do my brakes this weekend. Quick responses needed.

I always figured Brembo on the front and Bradi on the rears.

What is Brandi? I called NOPI they do not even carry a rear rotor at all. I know the front rotor is more important but damn if your rears absolutely suck won't that cause your fronts to be overworked or even worse cause understeer under braking and turn in. I was thinking of going with one of the Kragen choices. Bendix I know because they make brake parts for all sorts of things including Commercial Trucks back when I used to work on them. I put Raybestos on my truck fronts at 40k and now im at 110k and they are just hit the screetchers. So is the official decent rear blank rotor thread for FDs. It shouldn't be this hard but I guess I am picky about what I put on my car.

Ok so Bradi is what the companies that advertise Brembo slotted and drilled front and rear are using for the rears. Gotham Racing at least posted this under the description saying that Brembo discontinued the stock rear size. So now is there a company that sells these rotors by name in the US that last link is to the UK Im not looking forward to paying those shipping charges. Does anyone think that Gotham Racing or the RX7 store will sell me there rotors before they drill or slot them? Yeah the Brandi was a typo I must have been thinking about what this search makes me want to drink.

It looks like these guys do their own drilling. Maybe you can get 'em to sell you a couple of blanks.

(You ain't kiddin'. It's tough to find a set of rear rotors for an FD.)

Are S5 T2 brake rotors the same as ours, I wonder? For some reason I think they are, but maybe someone here can confirm or deny it.

Yeah Im pretty sure from my recent research that the FD RX7 Front and Rear brake rotors are unique. Gotham Racing is researching selling me the Bradi Rear Blanks so hopefully they come up with a decent price without the machining. They do not machine them so their supplier will have to be willing to sell without.

Gotham has not got back to me on the Bradi rear blanks and that seems like a sweet deal 38 for the rears. Those same rotors were 97 at BuyBrakes.com. Can anyone vouch for the quality of Centric rear blanks?

Oh and I just noticed they are advertised as a pair for 38. Less than 20 bucks a rotor? Maybe I need to stock up on these rotors at that price. I noticed they put some black coating over the hat shouldn't that be sanded off where it mates to the wheel to promote equal force distribution at the mating surface and heat transfer to the wheel. The 97 at Buybrakes.com was per rotor by the way.

I ended up purchasing the rear Centric blanks from Tripoint Engineering. $56.52 shipped with CA tax since they are located in Califoria too. If you are from outside of CA then you would save on the taxes but probably pay more for shipping. I don't think you could get rear rotors for less even cheap aftermarket made in China junk. If they wear out in 2 years I'll just buy some more and still be up 100 bucks compared to the other prices I saw. Im going to AutoX the car this weekend on the stock brakes with slighty warped fronts and one ABS wheel sensor bad (Should be one wild ride). Really give them hell see how bad they fade and or warp. Then I will put on the New Brembo blank fronts, Centric blank rears, SS brakelines, Valvoline SynPower Brake Fluid, new ABS wheel sensor and Hawk HPS pads all around. Then go back for November's AutoX and compare the feel of the car. Track will change or I would compare the times. Updates coming on the price of the Bradi blanks since Im gonna let Gotham continue their research. I have faith that it will not be even close to $25.75 per rotor shipped to my door from TX.

Ok I got the rears in yesterday and the shipping box said made in China. The boxes on the inside were unmarked. I will compare the craftsmanship of these VS the Brembo fronts and the original rears to see how they compare. They did not have the black coating described on the website. I think there is some false advertising going on here. To the guy that ordered the full set I want to know what they look like to you. Especially if the fronts are coated. I really believe these are the cheap Chinese made rotors but according to popular belief It just doesn't matter on the rear and they were super cheap so I could go through a set every year and still be way ahead.

Mine just got here. The boxes were marked with the correct part numbers and "China." No surprise there. They have the black coating, BUT it's applied only inside the vents. The friction surfaces and hat look like any plain rotor's.

These rotors seem okay from a quick inspection, but I can't comment on the metallurgy. My car won't be driven during the winter, so I probably won't install the rotors until Spring.
