brake springs needed

Most aftermarket replacement disc brake pads do not include the backing plates and springs. I have found a listing for the backing plates but can not find a part number for the front springs. The springs are included if you buy the Mazda factory replacement pads, but I don't want to buy a set of pads just to get the springs.

Does anyone have a parts number for *just* the front disc brake pad anti-rattle springs?

I'm not sure which ones you are referring to in particular, but I'm guessing it's the metal wires that help keep the brake pads off the rotors:

As far as I know, those aren't available separately. Only has part of a kit.

Make your own Brake Pad Springs

The last time I replaced the brake pads on an 89 GTU the pads didn't come with the wire springs. So I made a set out of some wire used on the small survey/marking flags that you can find in most large building supply or hardware stores. You should first cut a 4-5 inch piece, then it in the middle to give it the tension you need to hold the pads off the rotor, then bend and trim the ends to fit the holes in the brake pads. This is very easy to do and it much cheaper, if you have one to use as a template you can better approximate the OEM spring. But anything close to the original will work.

Or you can send me $9.95 and I'll custom make a set of springs for you!
