Question Brake Rotors

What would happen if I changed out the rear solid rotors for a vented rotor. Should I be concerned about any safety issues, different manuals reference the different rotors vented and solid, but don't say much about changing from solid to vented.

As long as the thickness can be accomodated (vented are usually thicker) upgrading to a vented rotor would always be a good thing.

Will vented rotors fit on the stock single piston calipers?

I would guess that you would need the calipers that go with the vented rotors as well. The rotors are almost certainly thicker, and may also have a different diameter. Both of those differences would require the matching caliper.
