I would not run either of those on the track; I would use Hawk HP+. They are still a perfectly streetable pad that are kinder to rotors but they will survive more abuse.

:

I completely melted a set of HPS at the track. Stick with HP+ for combined work.

Ditto. Did the very same.

HP+ should work nicely and are kind to rotors. I use them exclusively on my Spec Miata as well.

I would start there and move up to blues up front, if necessary.

I agree. I use the Hawk HP+ at the track and they're quite good for that purpose. After 4 days at the track there's still some front pad left, they didn't hurt the rotors, they aren't too noisy, but they do give off alot of dust. I wouldn't reccomend using them on the street too much, as the dust is bad for the wheels and paint, but changing pads is easy, swap them the weekend before and flush the brake fluid at the same time(use a high temp fluid, I like FORD DOT 3, it's got 550 degree F boiling point and it's cheap), then change them back out in favor of the stock pads the weekend after and bleed the brakes too while you're at it.

EBC is overrated, they are not as good as they claim to be. Hawk all the way, HP+.
