Brake pad installation
I've never done brakes before. I am trying to replace the pads and rotors on my FD. Started with with the rears and I have removed the old rotors and pads. Now I am trying to put the new (Hawk) pads in place and get whole caliper back over the rotor.
The caliper is obviously not fitting back over the rotor. I have turned the piston 3 times and it has allowed some space, but not nearly enough.
I've searched the forum for a write up with no luck and have tried my best to understand the FSM - but I guess I am just not getting anywhere. I'm begging for someone smarter than me to give me a link here or some kind of guidance.
I've done tons of mechanical work on the car and have all the tools necessary. Just don't have the experience.
Can anyone help a fellow member?
Thanks
Dave

I guess I could...
I have no idea if that's a good idea though simply because I've never done brakes. I read somewhere to turn it 3 times so I didn't go anymore. Is it OK to turn the piston until I can slide the whole caliper back over the rotor with pads on? Does it adjust itself when the brakes are applied again?
I know these seem like dumb questions for most people that have done brakes - I know it's a pretty simple thing compared to most car projects. I just don't want to screw this up and wipe out!
Help is appreciated.
