Brake issues

ok, i've got a basic '86 w/o abs. i rebuilt my master cyclinder got it all back together and i've been trying to get it pushing fluid again and i can't for the life of me. i put fluid in and tried to bleed it normally, no luck. i took the outputlines off the master and still can't get fluid through. I'll get like one decent squrit and then nothing. it all just sits in the resivoir. Anybody got any help or tips?

You should start by taking the output lines from the MC and bleeding them back into the reservoir. If that doesn't work, you know the problem is right there (bad MC, or the pedal isn't pumping the MC due to bad or mis-adjusted brake booster unit). Once the MC lines are pumping air-free fuild, hook the lines back up and bleed as normal.

Note that Speedbleeders don't work well if there is a bunch of air in the lines -- if that is what you were using to bleed the first time, that would explain the failure.

lol

haha, i don't know if this was the smartest or the safest but i took the distribution pin out of the proportioning valve and got fluid that way and now they work :P. Now that i have fluid throughout i might try putting that pin back in but that atleast got me rolling. thx for the advice though. -z00m
