Bought rims what offset tire size HELP

Guys,

I've put a deposit on Volk Racing Gram lights 57 pro Gunmetal Grey
Size
17*8
17*9

What offsets do I need and what tire size can I run?

This is for a 1988 Turbo with apex lowering springs and Tokico adjustables.

Thanks,
Ian Skacel
10th AE

Would hate to have wrong size

I'd say, don't go any higher than a +40 front and rear. Rishie recommended a 225/45 and 255/40 on a T2 with those width wheels.

If you get coilovers you may have a clearance issue with the lower spring perch. Just an FYI.

Peace.

PUNK! you put a deposit down?

PUNK!!!!!!! and you got the PRO version!!! AHHH!!!!

from rays engineering website

http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/e_index.html

more specifically:
http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/cgi-bin/...odelName=57PRO

or

http://www.rayswheels.co.jp/cgi-bin/...odelName=57PRO

from the sizing chart it looks like 17x8 has +35 which is closest to +40 mm stock offset therefore you want

Front: 17x8JJ + 35 on 235/45/17
Rear : 17x9JJ + 40 on 255/40/17

but for tire sizes... i think a 245/40/17 tire may even fit for a 8 inch rim... and i also think a 265/40/17 will fit on a 9 inch rim.

THe problem is do u have enough clearence to the fender up front. Also to get the speedo correct i'm not sure if 245/45/17 is any good or 235/45/17... i'm not at home... i'm at parents house... so i can't remember the formula.

Perhaps the great rishie can elaborate .

IAN WHY MUST YOU SPEND MONEY! STOP! your making me itchy to spend money... damn u!

Thanks guys for the info,

Cheers,

Those sizes look pretty good. My brother works for Attersly Tire "Spelling" so I will be buying a set of Yokohama A520.

The sizes you quoted seem pretty large especially for the front ones.

P255/45R17 measured width 10.3" dia 25.9"
P235/45ZR17 measured width 9.5" dia 25.2"

Oh and ya. These rims should be sweet. I want them to make them without the Gram lights logo on the wheel though. Have to see if they can do that.

Oh and its your turn to produce some cool mods and parts

SPEND SPEND $$$

Ian

IAN,

before you order confirm the type of gram pros u are getting... appaerently there are differen't versions of the sizes... ie A,B,C

whic clears different types of cars on differen't calipers.

here is what the rays site says

Color : Grayish Silver, Gold
The 17-inch disk type A in the size table denotes models matching big calipers of SKYLINE, FAIRLADY Z (Z32), SILVIA, CELSIOR, SUPRA, CELICA, RX-7 and LANCER.
The 17-inch disk type B in the size table match BREMBO caliper of IMPREZA (GDB).
The 17-inch disk type C in the size table denotes models matching big calipers of IMPREZA (GC8) and INTEGRA (DC5).
The 18-inch disk type A in the size table denotes models matching big calipers of SKYLINE, FAIRLADY Z (Z32), SILVIA, CELSIOR, SUPRA, CELICA, RX-7, LANCER and IMPREZA.
The 18-inch disk type B in the size table denotes models matching big calipers of SKYLINE, FAIRLADY Z (Z32), SILVIA, CELSIOR, SUPRA, CELICA, RX-7 and IMPREZA.
The 18-inch disk type C in the size table denotes models matching big calipers of IMPREZA (GC8).
The depth of the rim will be visible minus the thickness (approximately 17 inch/10 mm, 18 inch/22 mm) of the disks.
