bigger tires?
my tires are now 225/50-16 on stock rims
i would like to know how high/big i can go with my tires and not make an impact on the stock suspension,i live in new york city and i would like to have as much rubber to absorbe the pot hole hits.

Not to be harsh but...if you are worried about this, you shouldn't own ANY car with low profile tires. To keep the same overall diameter of your tire, you would have to go to something like a 185/60-16, which would :
a.) look totally ridiculous and
b.) make the car's handling something to be feared.
Remember, you HAVE to keep the same overall diameter. The stock FD tires are right at 24.84" in diameter (225mm x .5 x .03937 = 8.84 + 16" wheel = 24.84)
This is why you can go LOWER profile such as 45 aspect ratio and go to a 245mm wide tire. And so on so forth.
To put a HIGHER aspect ratio tire giving you more rubber/sidewall height, you have to significantly reduce the width.
