I bought them for my car. They came highly recommended to me by numerous people. I've ridden in a couple non-rx-7's with them... great tires, seem to provide great grip. They're getting very good reviews as well.

Why would you get the "w's" instead of the KD's?

W(et). If you plan on driving in the rain at all, the performance of the KDW is much better.

Judging by Tire Rack's test results, it looks like the KDs handle wet surfaces very well anyway. The only thing the KDW is likely better at is resistance to hydroplaning.

According to A-spec in Chicago, KDW's are no longer available in 245/45/16.

I don't plan on driving in the rain but I do takr road trips to different car shows/rx-7 events and I don't like hydroplaning plus I like the tread design.

I can't remember the offset but the wheel is a 18x9.5 with the offset pushing the wheel 1/2 inch out

Oh,

I remember that w/ 9.5 at front, off set 50 works (from damien's wheels). I'm not sure if his sticks out or not. I'd like a set of 9.5 on front as well, but the off set is very difficult to find unless it's custom order like kenesis.
