He did say streetable and DOT.....of which those qualify. The Falken RT-615 is pretty much unbeatable as a street tire for the money.

kk. ive decide ima go with the azenis rt 615.

215/45r17 or 215/40r17? Car is lowered about an inch. Which sidewall size should i order?

Does it really make a difference besides 5 bux?

If they're going to be your only tires then R's probably aren't a very smart choice. They'll wear out quickly, and more importantly, will heat cycle quickly, making the grip drop off considerably before they're worn out. The Azenis are the fastest street tires for autocross. Other good tires for autocross are the Hankook RS-2, the Kumho MX, the Advan AD07, and the BFG KD.

Uh yeah, it makes a difference!

The 215/45 17 is close to stock diameter (a little smaller, 225/45 17 would be closest).

For autocross I'd get the 215/40/17, because it's smaller, gives lower CG for better grip, shorter gearing for better acceleration and shorter sidewall for better feel.

My dad's got a set of the new Azenis, they're great tires, awsome grip, not bad in the wet, acceptable wear. This is the first I've heard anyone badmouth the Azenis for anything other than heat causing them to go greasy, or the rapid wear.

sidewall number is expressed as percentage of width

rynberg is not wrong...

he is saying 225/45 is closer to stock diameter of stock wheel/tire package than a 215/45 which is a little smaller, and will thus make a typical car speedometer read faster than you are really going.

either way 45 imo is the way to go for daily duty

Perhaps you should learn some tire basics..... start with the Tire Tech section at www.tirerack.com or some of the sticky threads at the top of this forum.
