Best pricing for SSR GT3

Wondering how many of you guys have these, how you're liking them, and where I might find good pricing on them besides the Tirerack.

I always like to have some price comparison before I buy.

Thanks,

-E

I had one shop tell me about $475 each for 18's. What is TireRack's price?

More than that for 8.5 x 18 front and 10 x 18 rear.

You should PM ARD T2. I think he's kinda the man around here for hooking up wheels. If his price is not close to $475, let me know. I'll have to find the guys name and number that quoted me that (he told me he is the exclusive U.S. importer of SSR wheels- even Tire Rack has to buy through him.

Yeah Rishie doesn't do much better than Tire Rack. Perhaps a little better. For those of us who have to pay for shipping from Reno Nevada (rather than South Bend) it's a wash . Email me that contact for the SSR distributor. I'd be interested in a future purchase of a set of 9.5 x 17s all around 42-mm offset in Competition Silver. Definitely not this year, as I'm tapped out from my building the "beast"

Yeah, Rishie also doesn't answer PMs and e-mails very well either, but that's another story.

Tom, I'd love to get your contact's name as well. I haven't decided between the GT3s and the SSRs yet, but I'm pretty sure it'll be one of 'em, since the Kinesis wheels I want are about double what the SSRs cost.

Thanks!

Sorry for the delay guys. If you want to deal direct with the SSR importer to the US, his name is Bob. His email address is: eurosportbob@hawaii.rr.com. His phone number is 808-545-1658.

Please, keep this a good contact for me and everyone else; when you talk to him, please be an adult and be semi-professional. He is obviously doing us a favor cuz he doesn't need to deal with us for just one single set- I'm sure his daily business entails bulk deals with SEVERAL sets.

I just reviewed the prices he gave me for SSR Velbrets. Most of the SSR wheels should be about the same.

-18x8.5, $483
-18x10, $504

As far as I know, those are pretty darn good prices. And that was his first offer to me- I didn't even negotiate him down yet.

Good luck. Let us know what kind of a deal he ends up giving you.

Tom,

Thanks a ton man. I'm writing Bob tonight to get me some pricing.

Leaning toward the SSRs now, since they have wife approval.

What are Velbrets? Can't find 'em anywhere.

Oh my gawd.

There are some really nice looking wheels on that site.

Can Bob get ahold of any of these, or just some of them?

Tom,

Don't think it's happenin' with Bob. Straight from the man.

"Thanks for looking me up. All of the SSR distribution of Comps and GT3's go through the Tire Rack. They are our exclusive distributor on those items. Please call them and I'm sure they will be able to help you."

Bob

Ah well...thanks for tryin'.

Ah, man. That sucks. I guess when I talked to him, we just "clicked". We spoke on the phone for like 15 minutes and he said he would send me any SSR wheel I wanted. Did you email him? If so, then that might be your problem. I would wait a week or two, call him up, and act like you don't know anything about that email; act like you're someone else. You basically have to "sell" him on the fact that this is a private transaction and that you will keep it on the down-low.

That's the way I approached him and he said he would send them by 3-day UPS or something like that. But don't tell him I told you this stuff- just be a good salesperson, be his "friend" and I'm sure he'll do it. In this world, money talks!!!

On the other hand, by looking at the prices on TireRack, his original quote to me really isn't that big of a savings. You might even have some luck talking to TireRack and bluffing them out- tell them you can order them from Australia for less (they know they have the US rights on the GT3, but if you order from outside the country, that would be a hard fight for them).

Good luck,
Tom

Yup that's the problem with the tire rack SSR's. I'm sorry I haven't been able to reply back. I'm in the middle of organizing our books for last year. I'm on a slight leave for the next couple weeks.
